They always threaten to drop channels and they never do. It's always the network's fault btw. They demand more money, then TV provider says they aren't going to pay it. So then the network says they will pull their content. Usually it ends with TV provider paying more money so they don't lose the network and they pass on the costs by raising your cable/satellite bill.
 
I have Directv and I remember seeing a commercial for this last night as we were watching Mad Men. Personally, I don't give a crap if Dish drops AMC.
 
Anyone who saw last night's episode live had to see one of the two (at least) AMC produced commercials about Dish dropping AMC. I thought it was funny at the end of the one the voice-over says "Don't like Dish Network drop AMC" right as they play the scene of Lane dropping Pete in their fight.

With the way episodes have been pacing, they'll skip the funeral and it'll just be a few "OMFG, Lane si ded" lines at the office next week.
 
Does anything else think this paves the way for Pete to get his name on the door like he was promised at the end of Season 3? Say what you will but he was instrumental in getting Jaguar, and we already know Ken isn't interested in a partnership if they get Dow. It'll no longer be known as SCDP that's for sure.

Lane's death
was symbolic in the fact that we're all expecting someone to finally jump out of the building when it's the exact opposite, someone dies and doesn't even fall to the ground. Probably over-thinking that one but whatever.
 
What Don/Dick did was absolutely wrong. However, when confronted with the situation regarding lane, he took the optimal course of action. He allowed Lane a graceful exit and offered to cover the loan (which is pennies for him, but still). There is no way he can turn the other cheek allowing Lane to continue his role at SCDP as financial chief.

Don got $500,000 from the sale of Sterling Cooper to PP&L, plus a hefty salary in the years before that.
 
Emmy nominations coming up this Monday, as good as the season has been I think it's going to be tough to win a 5th straight Emmy. Homeland was great and a good upset candidate because of the war angle, Downton Abbey is Mad Men-ish and right up the voters alley, plus it was great also. And Breaking Bad got skipped last year then had an awesome season for this time around. But in the end, with all that said, Game of Thrones was the BEST of them all! However they're biased against the genre and won't vote it up. Add Boardwalk Empire and The Walking Dead to the mix (meh seasons but big shows) and it's going to be tough field.

can someone refresh me as to who the guy don kept seeing and had his dream with when he was fixing his tooth problem? i'm thinking it is his brother from when they were kids or something, but i just don't remember back that far or the exact story line of who it is.

Yes, that was Adam, Dick Whitman's half-brother who hung himself after Don, in his new identity, refused to have anything to do with him.
 
Underwhelming finale 🙁 just like last year, the big stuff happens in the episodes beforehand, leaving the finale to deal with the aftermath of something that's still new to us. Some good scenes and a prosperous outlook to the company (did they get Dow and not tell us?) but leaves me wanting more. The Pete/Beth thing resolved very eerily, and poor Pete tries to stand up for her and ends up with 2 more punch-outs, I love the guy but he's the Joffery of this show. Also I'm in the minority here but I like Megan and like that she grounds Don how Betty never could, but there was too much of her even for my tastes in the finale. Oh well, Breaking Bad is just around the corner now!
