This is getting good reviews. Currently at 93% after 15 reviews at RT. Thus I'm predicting at least 75% but probably more like 80%+ after Friday.

Too bad I probably won't have time to see this in the theatres. But I may end up buying the Blu-ray. Hopefully it has Atmos like the first one did. Actually, it doesn't really need Atmos, but hey, why not? 😉

Stupid Atmos theater next to my house is playing 50 Shades Darker instead of John Wick ...

Heh. I predict Fifty Shades Darker will get terrible reviews like the first one.

As for Atmos, I was specifically talking about the Blu-ray actually. I have a basic Atmos setup at home. The impact is more significant for movies like Gravity and Mad Max: Fury Road than John Wick though.

Heh. After 25 reviews, John Wick 2 is now at 96% on RT. Yeah, it's still early, but I find it amusing that that's higher than most of the Oscar Best Picture nominees. 😀

No female reviewers yet though. Mostly young to middle-aged men, which fits the demographic of this movie perfectly.

I just saw JW last night and I liked it. A little slow in the beginning but it picked up and was just badass the rest of the way. Some funny parts too. I agree that a movie about the hotel and how dinner reservations came to be would make a pretty interesting story.

Wife is even more excited about this than I am, we both loved the first. Particularly the car for me (I have a similar one). Something about older cars and loud engines gets me going. I am afraid that too many new famous people will make it not as good? Gonna try and see this soon, just gotta get a damn baby sitter. Already talking about a 3rd too if this one does well enough.

I also like Reeves a lot too. Seems to be a pretty down to earth actor, lives in a very modest apt, rides the bus/sub. Helps a lot of people. And does his own acting, really into martial arts. Man of Tai Chi was badass, as well as others like it.

His acting aside, he's actually a pretty cool guy. He gave up lumps of cash on several of the movies he worked in to get other actors, to get the movie to move into production, etc. I wish more actors/public facing folks had attitudes more like his.

Damn it.. all the movie venues around here have 50 Shades in their premium rooms, and JW in the non-updated theaters. WTF is that?

Honestly, much like the first one, I didn't care for it much. I still don't really know why though. Maybe it's because the action is too repetitive? John Wick just runs in, shoots everyone while barely ever taking any damage, and five minutes later, it's rinse and repeat! Although, in this movie, he insists upon triple tapping (two chest, one head) everyone instead of just head shots like the first movie. 😛

I did find the second half to be a bit better than the first half, but that's mostly because
they focused a bit more on assassins vs. John Wick. So, you ended up with more 1v1 fights. Although, the scene on the subway was weird. The other patrons in the far back were way too calm the whole time. I realize that it's NYC, and there's the stereotype that no one cares, but those people ran out of the subway immediately once the doors opened.

This one have a dog dying in it too? The woman won't go if that's the case

No, there is the dog from the end of the first movie (this movie takes place around right after the first ended), but that's it. The dog isn't in it that much.

Well, two to the chest, and one to the head is a failure drill. It's universally taught on how to stop someone. Triple tapping is three shots to the same area also, not what you say he does in this movie. He did his own shoots too. Plenty of YouTube vids of him training prior to the movie. I respect that, he really got into it. And got to be pretty good with a gun.

Really ought to be titled "50 Darker Shades of Vanilla acted out by charisma-challenged tweens with zero chemistry" from what I've seen. (Which admittedly is only trailers.) Those people really need to understand that boredom is not an exciting punishment.

My wife was asking some of her students if they had any plans over the weekend. Apparently one of them is going with her mother to see 50 shades. That seems...awkward.

Oh, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the triple tap. It's just amusing because one of the complaints I hear about the first one is that it's constant head shots the whole time. So, it makes me wonder if they took that into account for this movie.
