PSA: it snows in the winter

The night before last, it went down to -19C, (-2.2F)
Last night, it went up to 9C, (48.2F) and it poured rain all night.

Most of the snow is gone.

It's wnowy, windy and the roads are dangerous but damn i'll go snowboard in the best conditions in a couple of hours and have the best time with my gf...if I make it alive...

This has been a really mild winter for us. Next to no snow on the ground, temps right around freezing. Not bad at all.

Then yesterday we got BLASTED. Had 24" in my driveway, looks like my work got about the same. I'm not sure what the official count is. The really bad part is its only 5F, so the salt isn't going to do anything for a while.

The fires happen in not very populated areas so majority of us don't have to deal with it.

The San Fernando Valley got a lot of smoke and in some cases raining ash when I lived there. Not fun, but so rare and after twisting my ankle something fierce on ice behind a goddamn parking garage in Colorado, I'll take occasional smoke inhalation. And they say the western slope is more mild in cold than Denver... after I graduate and need to get to a bigger city I'd rather get all the way back to Cali than deal with Denver's winters and traffic (worse than most parts of LA!).

glad the weathermen were wrong yet again about this storm. they are 0/5 this year. batting a perfect .000 and i don't see them getting anything right this whole winter to set new league records. maybe they need to let roids back in the game so they can hit some shots out of the park.
