A number of members here have asked for my pic, some of you more persistently than others. I have several reasons for ignoring those requests.

First of all, I have posted my pic in the past in the general members' pics threads that perennially show up. Few people noticed or cared in those threads probably because few ppl knew that I was female. In general, my posts don't usually give away my gender unless I'm particularly offering a female perspective (advice in YAGTs for example:p).

Based on these observations, it's obvious that the only reason for the more frequent pic requests recently is that I finally have 'Girl' in my nick, which is a superficial reason IMO. I don't care for superficiality in general, and that includes male attention based on superficiality.

Another reason is that there are too many of you on this forum that are just disrespectful towards females. and I'd rather not have my pic under the public scrutiny of those types of guys, that's all. Yet there are still quite a few members here, both male and female, who don't fall into this category and who have bothered to get to know me in PM, AIM, or #neochat. I have had no qualms about sharing my pic or even webcam with them if/when they asked.

So basically, showing my pic will be on a show-me-respect-first-and-if-i-like-you-enough-maybe-i'll-show-you basis.

Phew, glad I got that off my chest.:D

does this happen a lot? i mean, do women around here get harrassed for pics, etc all the time? i've noticed that every post that even mentions a woman tends to get at least one "pics?" response...but are a lot of females here messaged off the public forum for pics as well?

That is pretty messed up that people harrass you for pics. I rarely even pay attention to who posts a comment much less determine whether or not they are female by name, since im sure alot of guys put girl or chick in their name to try to fool people.

I would like to add that I actually haven't had too many members asking for my pic yet. So far it hasn't been anything I couldn't tolerate or ignore; I wouldn't call it harrassment yet. I just didn't want it to get out of hand, getting to the point of harrassment, or have guys get the wrong idea (perhaps that I'm a cold person or that I'm a guy) when I ignored them. So my intention with this thread was to nip it in the bud; you could call it a preemptive strike.

Syringer, or whoever else considers me an attention whore: I guess you could call me a self-centered person who thinks highly of herself, but I really don't think I seek or whore for attention. When I post, I'm just being myself and express myself candidly. If/when I receive attention for it, so be it; I can't be responsible for what other members pay attention to. I do however have a distaste for superficial attention and that's all I intended to get across in this thread.

If any of you bothered to get to know me or search my past posts, perhaps you would see I am indeed not an attention whore. I have a history of making thoughtful, helpful, and intelligent posts as well as inane nef ones.

That is my case, and I'm out. Gotta get ready to spend some time in NYC.:)

You may do as you wish of course, but does it make sense expect guys here not to ask for pics when you post your phone number in another thread? Really, it is your business, but that ought to have occured to you. If it doesnt matter, then carry on.

You won't believe this! Surprise, Tuffgirl. I was doing a search on an old post of mine, then I stumbled upon that thread. Funny I never noticed that link, provided by Soulflare. I guess it's 'cuz I only looked at the first link, offered by Eug. I never say any of the pics besides that one where the guys were all gathered. And then all I remember was how people were jumping on Eaker's case after being disappointed with her real life appearance (having something to do with her weight). (Windogg is cute. And I mean cute as in his expressions fitting with his facial look. He seems playful.)

Now I even learned that some of you that I thought lived in the USA were also there. Did you guys travel all the way from the USA . . . well, I'm exaggerating--as it does depend upon what part of the USA you are. I think some of you are right on the tip or close to the border, at least.

Speaking of . . . Hot Chic, whatever happened to your friend, Zenmervolt? I haven't seen him for a long time now. Did I scare him away? :Q I'm just kidding, but I'm curious.

Okay, back to the topic: Tuffgirl, just ignore those guys. Although I was surprised too that you started a different thread to make this announcement, it's been done. Those boys are devouring you more than necessary. So just don't mind them. I'm sure you can defend yourself, though . . . so I'll leave it for you! ;)

[Hayabusarider:] "You may do as you wish of course, but does it make sense expect guys here not to ask for pics when you post your phone number in another thread?"

:Q You did that, Tuff Girl? :Q Oh, I have to say this, Tuffgirl: You are really, really, really, really, really a geek. No offence. :p And I'm sure you won't take offence to it, since you've so pronounced your geekiness and expressed your desire to be freed from the "superficial". It's just that I never thought of it to this measure. You put me to shame for being so secretive and paranoid. :p

Edited for additional link and bold gone wild. Sorry. Oh, and I forgot to add that my favourite pic is the one of Windogg and you (pic 17) "goofing off at the hotel".

Who the hell cares about you and your f*cking pics? Are you that desperate for attention? Don't think that any idiot with half a brain can't see right past your little front. Just when you thought that high school was the last time you would see people this pitiful.....

You must feel so good about yourself to find a buncha nerds that give you attention. Good job [Where is the :gag; emotion?]

PLaYaHaTeD : you have to be pretty lame if u have to waste your time and have to express that here. This is OT, people can type in whatever they want. if people like to meet each other, that is just cool.

Go away!

This whole thread is lame. I spent 30 seconds and four sentences to speak my mind. Get over it. And if this is the kind of thread that represents what you call "meeting people", then let me buy you a pair of glasses so that you can see the real picture. In fact, let's all put on some glasses and focus them directly at TuffGirl. That would just make her day.

Well if any girl complains about not getting "hit" on enough or being asked out, this is why. Shite, I'm afraid now to even wink at a woman! Everything is either a sexual harassment charge or some form of a male showing his fascist side.

Please, don't listen to Opra. She wants to whole race of man to turn gay or die.
