Apparently, the gene to regulate maximum growth comes from the female lion and male tiger, so the liger doesn't really get it. Males can reach 15' long and weigh up to around 1400 lbs. Here's one that's only 1100 lbs, next to a full grown Bengal tiger:

Hell even small exotic cats can mess one up.
 
Holy freakin' crap! Talk abour being owned!

That Male lion was all over that hyena..too bad we didnt get to see the whole thing, it looked like the hyena was holding it's own for a few seconds there....

badass video🙂 its true, the male lions can slaughter those hyenas🙂 a paw swat can break their back, then its over. saw it on a vid once, the hyena couldn't move its hind end after.. and then crunch.

saw a sad nature vid once where a female lion and her cub were bitten by a snake. cub dies, and lioness had to fight off venom.. drooling and delirious. the hyenas came and ate the cub and the lion couldn't do anything about it. idon't like hyenas mcuh🙂

You know, being that big probably isn't actually a good thing for an animal that hunts for food...it'd be too slow if it weighed 1400lbs and require more food to keep itself alive too.
