then more power to you...it doesn't hurt me a bit if you decide i am a sweaty mongoloid with elephantitis of the testicles...it's your opinion, after all 😛

😉

Nope, I know you aren't because we have had many interactions here before this thread, and you seem like a pretty reasonable, down to earth guy.

See, here's my problem with this. With the exception of those that saw it, you are taking the op's description of it without question. It's almost like as soon as someone mentioned the words "liberal" and "college student", that was it. I saw the traffic stop, and all three were pleasant and cooperative with the cops. They got pulled over for a license plate light out. The cop asked her if she had any prior arrests, and she did not lie, and said she had been for possesion. The cop then asked the same questions of the two passengers, and the guy in the back said he was on parole from a charge in Canada. The cop asked them all get out of the car, and they all consented to a search and had nothing on them. They all sat on the curb as told, and consented to a search of the car.

While one cop searched the car, the other one started giving the guy from the back seat sh!t because he had cig burns on himself, and was pierced through his nose a couple times. The guy kept a good attitude and said it was something he just liked to do. The cop then called him a sado massochist, and he disagreed saying those were people who got off on it. When the other cop found the pot, the female driver started talking about how pot is not very harmful, and a lot of prescription drugs and alcohol are much more harmful..which is true. She didn't raise her voice and was not ranting. The cop asked her if she knew what THC has, and she did, and he said well...that "hurts your brain". They then asked her if it was illegal and she said, and I quote.. "yes, and I don't dispute that."

The guy from the back got arrested for a bench warrant for not showing up for a court date. The girl got a ticket for having under an ounce of weed, and a license plate light equipment violation, and the other passenger and her were let go. They were cooperative throughout the stop, and complied with everything the police asked.

You conveniently left out the part where the cop asked her if there was anything in the car, and she blatantly lied to him and said "no".
WTF does "anything in the car" mean? It could mean ANYTHING, literally.

Q: "Is there anything in the car we should know about?"
A: "Well, there's a steering wheel, a brake pedal, some floormats, and an umbrella in the backseat."

"Anything" means anything. HTF was she supposed to know what he meant?

anyone with half a brain should know the cop is referring to anything illegal...otherwise why would he need to know about it?

He asked her if he could search it and she said yes. I don't recall him asking her if there was anything in the car specifically, nor her saying no. Regardless, were they all cooperative or not?

Yes, they were all cooperative. It was only after the cop found the first bag of pot under the dash that she went on her rant about how pot is not any more harmful than alcohol blah blah blah.

Uhm, only a total moron would take that point of view. When a cop asks you if you have "anything" in the car he/she should know about, they're NOT talking about your Pokemon card collection, or your box of midget pr0n. They're taking about illegal substances, guns, etc.

I'd argue that someone who can't make an argument without name calling has a weak argument.

Don't play stupid. There was no mistaking what he meant. I guess when a cop asks you if you've had anything to drink, you'll tell him yes, you had some water.
Then they should ask if there's anything illegal in the car, which any smart cop will do. Either way, Insane3D disputed the fact that the question was even asked. I haven't seen the episode, so I can't comment.

Just because someone's in college, doesn't mean they're well educated or smart. They could be potheads that just go to college for the culture.

You can argue that, but my point stands. If you're going to split hairs over what a cop means when they ask if you have "anything" they should know about, then you ARE a complete moron.

See, you are obviosuly looking at this with a biased point of view. It was far from a rant. What exactly did she say that was incorrect?

I'm not saying she said anything that was incorrect. I was just laughing at how she breaks into her speech about how pot isn't so dangerous if it's done responsibly, etc. The cops don't want to hear that stuff. It's not going to change their minds about giving you a ticket or whatever else. I also laughed when she said she had stopped "doing that stuff" after her first arrest for possesion, yet the cop finds 2 bags of pot in the car, one of which was directly in her area of control under the dash. Granted, it could have been one of her buddies' bags, but why lie about it?

except for the part where she said she had nothing illegal in her car.

i posted tis before reading the rest of the thread

come on, it was understood that the cop was asking if she had anything in the carafter she said she was arrested for possession. [/discussion, she lied]

So you agree your description was far from accurate? I don't believe that specific question was asked anyhow.

Assuming that question was aksed, you think she would have been better off to just tell him, instead of taking the chance he wouldn't find it? We aren't talking guns here.

If she told him where it was, the outcome would be the same, so doesn't it make more sense to not say anything and take the chance they don't find it?

You still haven't said what exactly made her liberal. Also, were they not cooperative and pleasant throughout the stop? How exactly does that one response to a question, assuming it was asked as you said, "end the discussion"?

Hence the "stupid bitch" comment. And that's what she is. Stupid for lying to the cops, and stupid for having something in the car that was illegal.
Whether it should be legal or not is completely irrelevant.

she starts ranting on how she is a college student and pot should not be illegal.

her friend is wearing an anti george bush shirt and theyre all dressed in black.

her other friend had a warrant out for his arrest that he seems to have forgot.

i love this show

My favorite is the one where they are searching this lady's house for drugs. During the search, the lady pulls out a crack pipe and starts taking hits.

Even I can agree that she qualifies wholeheartedly for the "stupid b!tch" label...

Just like with every other profession there are good cops who understand and respect their job, and then there are those who are on a power-trip. As you may have guessed, the Cops show only has the first type.

Well yes, but I got in trouble for something similar. He asked me if I had any guns, knives, or handgrenades and I told the cop no. He found some loose ammunition from the range in a plastic sack, and decided I was "lying" to him, etc. I never lied, I didn't even remember the ammunition was in there, nor is it illegal in the first place. I don't have anything illegal in my vehicle, and I never will, but I got detained for over an hour regarding something LEGAL. Completely absurd.
