While you likely don’t have the past due problem. You do have the problem of not having another option. I’d credit for one months overage and that’s it. You know how to track you know what to do. There wouldn’t be an option present to escalate the call further. While executives will say in public they like speaking with their customers in the real world they hate it and appreciate someone saying (to the right customer) nope this is the top tier offer and it will not be escalated further.
As a rule, when I'm refused access to the chain of command, when they tell me "I'm as high up the ladder as you can go." My response is generally, along the lines of "Are you sure? There's really no one else I can talk to before I contact Channel 5? I'll be sure to mention your name prominently."

Usually, I get put on hold for about four minutes, and then, someone higher up the food chain picks up the line to resolve my issue.

The bigger the company, the less they like "bad press".

@ch33zw1z you should look into this as a backup plan. No data cap but they will slow the connection if you are in the top whatever percent of your market. My estimated speed was 50 down and 10-ish up if I remember correctly. Not sure if it works in the boonies where you live but worth looking into.

as far as the phones go when I worked with them a few years ago it was stepped basically first slow down was video only, next slow down slowed everything a bit but was still like a few hundred k, next slow down was basically dial up. Not sure if that’s still true but I suspect it is.

Ah man, this already creeped up $10 more to $60 month, and not available yet *shakes fist*

T Mobile has a new CEO who I am sure will be more revenue focused. I am sure every rate will creep up and many of the oddball offers they have/had will be dropped.

Meh, by the time it makes it to my area, probably won't even save me money.

Save $30 a month - fantastic

Now save $20 month - less appealing for sure.

At that rate it should be $80+. I'm already paying that for cable internet only.

Unfortunately, I have some nest IoT devices that really need network connectivity to function 100%. So dropping internet would be aggravating, but it could happen at some point.

I've been keeping my eyes on ATT also, because they're my mobile provider. Maybe they'll dive into the mobile internet as an ISP after 5g gets more widely available.

I am the opposite. Refreshed out two old TV with 4K models and doubled led my month over month usage. I was actually surprised at how much my usage increased.

I actually didn't even the have traffic monitor enabled on my router until this thread popped up.

:Thumbs up; if I get pushed into an unlimited fee then I'll be hammering it big time

Got a text today that I am 90%. Cycle ends in a few days I think, but it is a reminder that I need to get my firewall setup so I can monitor this nonsense.

ATT says FU rural America

"AT&T said that "overbuilding" areas that already have acceptable speeds "would needlessly devalue private investment and waste broadband-directed dollars."

"Overbuilding" is what the broadband industry calls one ISP building in an area already served by another ISP, whereas Internet users desperate for cheaper, faster, and more reliable service call that "broadband competition.""

What we call free market, ATT just called wasteful and overbuilding. Competition means they can't gouge consumers.
