A 5.0 Mustang I used to have beat the sh!t out of quite a few bikes. Maybe driver error with some of the bikes but a win is a win.

I loved it when a Harley pulled up next to me at a light revving it up. His lane ended about a quarter mile down the road and he intended on beating me to the merge. It wasn't even close.

Unless you have a severly modded pony (sub 12), you will get taken.

It wasn't a severely modded Mustang. Ran 12.70's on the motor which is not extremely fast by any means but it held its own.

However, don't kid yourself, Civic driver. It's no drag racer. First, it's front-wheel-drive. Second, it has but four normally aspirated cylinders. Third...I'm on a bike.

You see, we're a breed apart. By giving up two wheels and any false veils of safety, we have become more powerful than you could possibly imagine. In fact, even my 24-year old, air-cooled, 2-cylinder standard with less than a quarter the displacement of YOUR engine is more than capable of walking away from you like you're standing still.

Yes, you kept within three car lengths of me from the light. Sure, once we reached the limit, you blew by me. Well guess what...I was toying with you. I'm not going to risk a ticket, as unlikely as that may be, by being a squid. Even my broke-ass POS bike doesn't need more than a touch of the throttle to keep you in my mirrors.

From now on, stick to racing Vespas, my friend.

Oh, and tighten that belt, dude, it's fvcking annoying.

Even though I don't drive a civic, most of the time, I'm well aware of what I can and cannot beat. I know I can't beat a bike. That doesn't stop me from pretending like I can, either for the pure enjoyment of seeing a bike take off faster than just about any car can, or to see a smug bastard like you get a ticket because he thinks he's the sh*t on his bike.

Not everyone that is "racing" you, actually is, my friend. Guess what...many times, we are toying with you.

Nothing better than seeing a douchebag in a 3 series get pulled over because you tricked him into thinking you were actually racing him.

I doubt he was racing some dink in a cage, especially a fast cage, just to beat him at the merge.

He WAS TRYING to beat me to the merge. He didn't....simple as that
He probably wasn't trying very hard. Of course any smart Bike Rider would know better than to mess with some dink using his car as an extension of his penis.

What the hell is wrong with you? You must be a Harley rider. Thinking they are invincible or something. It's laughable. Any vehicle can be beaten on any given day. Even a precious Harley. lol
No I'm not. One thing I know for certain than when facing a cage driven by a dink the Bike Rider is at a severe disadvantage. It's better to back off than to prove the Dink is a Dink and risk getting your ass run over.

He would have had to have been in front of me for me to run over him :D

Yeah why risk that when you are dealing with some kiddie who uses his car like a penis extension.

I know my civic is slow, but it's definitely fun in the corners (it's no s2000 but that doesn't mean I can't have fun with it).

I was keeping up with an STi yesterday on the way home from work..was he 'racing'? Nope. Was I? Nope. I just wanted to see him downshift and fly away (which he eventually did :D).

:)

CRX's are really fun to drive, but when it's time to put the pedal down they don't actually get up and go any faster than my old automatic station wagon.

A Harley will run 0-60 in about 5.3 and it's a very slow bike. If the Harley was really going all out, and if your Mustang was stock, it should have been neck and neck. And even an old 2-cylinder Honda Standard should leave a Harley behind without difficulty in acceleration.

Regardless, when you put a very fast car up against a very slow bike, you will blur the line a little, but do be aware that you were racing the motorcycle equivalent of a fully-loaded semi-truck.

LOL, hey man I drive a Civic.. and not to gloat but you wouldn't see me in your mirrors for much more then 2 seconds after the race begins.. Cars > Bikes, I really don't see how your little CRX encounter makes you think otherwise.

I drive a CRX (not the stock engine anymore thank god) and not even I'm retarded enough to race any sort of crotch rocket. Most of them stock nowadays go from 0-60 in 2.9sec but even thinking I have a chance is insane. The only thing that could keep up with them is a modded corvette. There was a video on Streetfire of one but I can't find it now, it was really good. I did find a Yamana R1 vs. Porsche 911 Turbo vs. Jet though. Bikes are fast.

Yeah I saw that video, I love vipers. There was another one lurking on the site somewhere with a purplish colored corvette and some bikes in some desert like area. It was really well documented. I wish I could find it

"Squid" is a biking term referring to idiot riders (generally if a biker is wearing only a T-shirt, shorts, and sandals, he or she is a "squid", it's an easy early identifier). The term comes from the way a dead biker tends to look similar to a dead squid. It's a derogatory term for idiots on bikes. Like people who do stunts on the freeway, or who cross double-yellow lines to pass cars.

even a heavily modded pony is no match for a Newer crotch rocket. a 600cc+ sport bike will blow away most car's on the street.

a guy who knows how to ride will beat a guy who knows how to ride every time.
