OK, so the CRX is a fun little car, and a very decent autocrosser. Hey, I'll even allow that a skilled driver in a CRX could probably beat a crappy driver in a 'vette, on a short course...

However, don't kid yourself, Civic driver. It's no drag racer. First, it's front-wheel-drive. Second, it has but four normally aspirated cylinders. Third...I'm on a bike.

You see, we're a breed apart. By giving up two wheels and any false veils of safety, we have become more powerful than you could possibly imagine. In fact, even my 24-year old, air-cooled, 2-cylinder standard with less than a quarter the displacement of YOUR engine is more than capable of walking away from you like you're standing still.

Yes, you kept within three car lengths of me from the light. Sure, once we reached the limit, you blew by me. Well guess what...I was toying with you. I'm not going to risk a ticket, as unlikely as that may be, by being a squid. Even my broke-ass POS bike doesn't need more than a touch of the throttle to keep you in my mirrors.

From now on, stick to racing Vespas, my friend.

Oh, and tighten that belt, dude, it's fvcking annoying.

I remember when they first came out. I started laughing at how ugly and slow those pieces of junk were. I still laugh when I see one.

Nice, but you are more likely to be pushing up flowers from six feet under, or better yet have missing appendages in the event of a crash

And for a tenth of the price of all those mods, you could buy a stock Hayabusa and also get into the 9's. But I'm not a sport bike rider...I want enough power to keep me out of trouble, but not enough to kill me.:)

The statistics are vastly inflated due to all the squids. Think about scooters for a moment. Yeah, they're more dangerous than cars, but intuitively you won't think of them as being quite as risky as motorcycles.
Then realize that a smart motorcyclist can avoid more accidents than a scooter, since you can turn, brake, and accelerate faster. Just don't weave in and out of traffic at 100mph, and you'll be fine.

Similarly, sports cars are overrepresented in accident statistics, despite their greater ability to avoid accidents. It's all about attitude.

I ride and I hate it when people in cars try to race me just to be jerks. Most of the time I'll just let them pass me and give them a hollow victory knowing I didn't even try, but every once in awhile I just fly away from them and smirk to myself as they get smaller and smaller in my mirrors.

Any bike could take the shuttle on the ground. When it's on the MLP it only moves at 1 mph. :)

Not all bikes are faster than cars

A 5.0 Mustang I used to have beat the sh!t out of quite a few bikes. Maybe driver error with some of the bikes but a win is a win.

I loved it when a Harley pulled up next to me at a light revving it up. His lane ended about a quarter mile down the road and he intended on beating me to the merge. It wasn't even close.

I don't think people have ever tried racing me... my bike does 0-60 in 3.x secs. You should see the thread on Prius message board, apparently those cars can take vipers and sportbikes...

What the hell is wrong with you? You must be a Harley rider. Thinking they are invincible or something. It's laughable. Any vehicle can be beaten on any given day. Even a precious Harley. lol
