On Xbox One your XBL account interacts with your games exactly the same way as a Steam account does with Steam games. How anyone on here fails to understand that Microsoft is trying to make Xbox One as "Steam-like" as possible is beyond me and how anyone thinks it is a recipe for failure is doubly confusing. Xbox One will likely be a success for the very same reasons that the Xbox 360 and Steam are successful. Sony saying they will or will not allow used games won't make a difference in anything Microsoft does or how well the One does.
taking best Buy, target, wallmart etc out of the equation when they helped you sell your units.. Changing a "standard" in the console world.. removing the ability to trade or sell games, removing the ability to take your console to a location with no net (lots of those that still have POWER) like basically every person who doesn't live within 10 miles of city.. you know those people who farm, etc.. live in the country..
gamestop and others came along and made a killing on the USED games market.. it has been around for ages.. but up till recently nobody took advantage of it like Gamestop (i will agree gamestop is screwing people left and right).. MS and Devs are just doing sour grapes.. "hey, they thought of it first, lets screw um, we want that money" does not make it right.. the record companies wanted to block MP3's but he people wouldn't have it.. the DVD companies wanted us to pay $75 a movies (doubtless most of you do not remember VHS prices at the start)and not allow rentals (frankly im more amazed people actually bought movies for $75+ back then, they did!).. the public didn't let it go... There was a time they didn't want schools selling used books.. again, didn't fly..
letting the company that produces a product we buy decide how we use it is pretty silly.. Of course they all want you to buy it a $60 and new its in there best interest, and they will shovel a load fo $hit to make you agree.. Imagine if Honda or Ford said we couldn't sell a car after buying it (we put countles man hours into developing that new cool thing-mo-bob, if we dont sell um all NEW how can we make back that money?).. After all I i sell it used, that means one person wont buy a new car. Tell me why a game is different? and if you want to say its not like a car.. its a intellectual property, we are not paying for the disc, but the "invisible" stuff on the disc.. then tell me why i can sell a Music CD, a book, a DVD, a Picture.. You dont buy a book for the value of the paper, you do for the reading, you don't buy a DVD movie for the plastic disc, you buy it for the images the viewing.. If i purchase the MONA LISA painting from whoever owns it (i would assume its not for sale) i could sell it for a $1 if i chose.. its not the value of the paint and canvas.. it the artist ability..
Sorry, if you want to drink the Koolaid the money and greed people want you to drink. please do.. just remember everybody wants a piece of that pie.. You wont be buying your next PC, you will be renting it, with an option to trade it and BUY a new full priced one.. why not the PC makers cant make money if i sell it used..
