Only say this because it seems absurd that a beat-em up game like diablo doesn't have gamepad support on the PC.

Is it better played with a gamepad?

It depends... melee is more fun with a gamepad as it doesn't need precision. Ranged is worse to control through a gamepad, especially because the idea is different - with a gamepad you aim with your character and shoot in the direction you're facing. Using a mouse, you point where the shooting should go to, doesn't matter which way you're facing (the shooting will follow the mouse cursor).

Bottom line: ranged is more fun with a mouse, melee is more fun with a gamepad.

I feel like it would be better on console. I played the starter edition on pc and hated having to keep clicking my mouse to move somewhere or attack. I also feel like from reviews it's easier to control on console. I don't have the game yet but I'm going to get it soon for ps4 after trying it on pc.

I've played both Diablo 2 and Torchlight on the PC and quickly became bored of them.

Got Diablo 3 for the Xbone and have enjoyed it.

I've played on both.

I do prefer the console version. Blizzard has fixed a bunch of annoying stuff from the original PC release, and I like the local co-op as well.

i only have experience with the console version myself, but two of my work buddies have played Diablo since the first PC release and said this XBONE version is the most enjoyable so far. Local Co-Op, as others have mentioned, is also super fun.

I hear the introduction of the dodge button is what really seals the console version as being better. However, I could never switch. I have hundreds of millions left in gold (sold billions before they removed the RMAH) and tons of time invested into characters and decent gear. I don't really want to start over.

Think I'm going to pick this up today for ps4. I really should not as Destiny is coming Tuesday and I need to get rid of some of my ps4 games I don't play anymore. But I figure it will be fun to have since there is a lot of loot to go through.

The one major downside of the console game that I can think of is for those who are playing wizard. Spells are not as easy to aim. It's better to click on a spot using a mouse for that IMO. Still, for every other class I think the console controls are fine. I had the opportunity to play it a bit today and it was nice to be able to dodge. I never did buy it on PC, I only played the free trial.

Does the console version have hard to read in game menus? I feel like I'll have trouble seeing on my tv from the couch. But I imagine the interface is a bit different?

I was sitting pretty close to the TV so I can't comment on that.

No, Blizzard fixed this on the console. At heart I'm a PC gamer but this is one game that works well on the console. It does have noticeable slowdown though when there are a lot of enemy's on the screen, I'll say somewhere around 15-20 fps. (keep in mind these are pretty rare as in mostly act 3 and rifts)

My crusader is level 91 paragon doing torment 3 and 4. Glad destiny comes out in a couple days as I need a break.

How do you get paragon level? And it seems from the main menu I can only do single player. If I press r2 I see options for network but I guess if I open to public that means others are in my single player game? Not sure how all that works yet. I'm only level 9 so far.

After you hit 70 regular levels, you'll start at level 1 paragon.

Paragon levels are the leveling after leveling mechanic. After you hit max level (70), you continue to level paragons. Each level gives you a paragon point to allocate in some stats (crit chance, resource, life on hit, etc). 800 is the point when all stats except main stat and vitality are able to be maxed out.

That's awesome. I am really enjoying the game so far. The controls are fluid and I like how you can navigate the menus and gear with the Ds4 and make changes. I don't quite understand all of it yet but I'm still on act 1.

I haven't tried any multiplayer yet either so I'm lost on the types of multiplayer game modes. But overall, there are so many character abilities and choices to pick from.

Finally managed to pick up RoS for xbox 360 this weekend.

Anyone else carry over toons to RoS on console? Asking as I noticed my DH sheet damage dropped when I first loaded up. After looking over my gear I found 3 items with Crit Dmg are now lower then before.

I wasn't aware you could carry over a character from PC to console? BTW, Diablo 3 is MUCH better on console. On PC it is a carpal-tunnel inducing clickfest.

Don't think you can, I played plain D3 on X360 also.

After getting it decided to try the new act first with my DH. Settled in on Master which wasn't too bad, died a few times here and there. Until I made it to the end, after quite a few deaths got tired of redoing it so dropped down 1 level and killed him on the first try.

Trying the Crusader now so far I'm liking him.

If any others are on X360 send me friend request for gift drops and at some point some coop.

I like the crusader a lot. I haven't tried any other characters but the posibikity for classes contain a lot of info.
