PS4 Diablo 3, anyone want to join up tomorrow?

I've already spent tons of hours on the PC version so I won't be playing the console. But just wanted to chime in and say that the new content with RoS greatly improves D3 vanilla. It will provide you with a lot of fun, and soon 2.1 patch for PC will be released, and blizz intends to bring those changes to the console version as well, so even more stuff for you to do. Enjoy and don't forget to step outside once in awhile!
 
Yeah, I played the PC version through to before they dropped the AH. I'm thinking this is going to be a different beast.
 
I don't currently have a PS4, nor will I (probably) be getting it for any console.

So, why do I bother typing in this thread... Just to proclaim my love for Diablo III! Such an outstanding game.
 
I've never played any of the diablo games before but I've been watching people stream this one and it does look fun.
 
I really wanted to play it but with Destiny just a few weeks away, I want to spend time grinding on both games. If Diablo 3 was released earlier in the year I would have picked it up because I know these types of games will take a ton of time.
 
Skipped it on PC because, well you know. But thinking about grabbing the PS3 version just for some casual co-op with a friend or two. I liked Baldur's Gate II/Champions of Norrath, so I suppose if I think of it more as Baldur's Gate III than Diablo, I won't mind the bastardization as much.

Anyways, hoping someone ends up with both the PS3 and PS4 versions and can give a little more detail on the differences. I've read that the PS4 version is 1080p/60 and the PS3 version is 720p/60. I don't mind the lower resolution at all if the framerate is locked at a solid 60 on PS3 with no slowdowns when a lot of particles/mobs are on the screen?

The only other difference I've read about that Blizz barely touched upon is that "Adventure Mode" on PS3/360 will be limited to one act at a time? I only watched one video on youtube regarding Adventure Mode on PC and the guy pretty much stayed within one act to do all the bounties anyways. I'm guessing he had the freedom to do a bounty in one act, then move to another act if he wanted? Without more details it doesn't seem like enough reason to upgrade to PS4, though.

And lastly, as far as the gameplay itself, is it possible to have 2 players on the same console go online to party with other people? Or is same screen co-op limited to local, and only a single player can go online?

When playing same screen co-op, what happens if someone dies? Do they have to sit there and wait for the other person to wipe or leave combat? Or is there some sort of resurrection system? Also, is the screen hard locked to one view, or will it zoom out some if one player reaches the edge of the screen to allow a little bit more freedom? Does playing with analog sticks favor melee classes? Is there a dual stick system to allow moving in one direction and firing in another as a ranged class, or do you have to do that awkward walk back, 180 and fire, stick waggling nonsense?

Since the console versions aren't limited to always online/connected, if you're playing online and suddenly lose your connection, what happens, will it seamlessly go offline but still continue your current encounter, or will you be dropped and have to reload the instance? If you're playing with a friend and one of you drops, can either of you seamlessly re-load into the encounter like drop-in/drop-out co-op?
 
I love it. I highly recommend. These next gen remasters so far are the greatest. You can tell that they had got all they could out of the previous gen. These games should have been just on this gen. They look and run amazing.

This is the way those games were meant to be played.
 
sounds like the game controls a lot like god of war in general, and like they stole the dodge mechanic from that game too. that's a good thing though because the control in god of war is pretty tight.
 
I'm playing a crusader and it's a lot of fun (have also the PC version and spent like 500 hours on it already). I just wish I could set a higher difficulty... Need to finish Act 4 for Master and hit 60 for Torment 🙁 If someone wants to do coop, just add me (PSN: Daedrael) - I'm in Europe (Denmark)
 
Too bad I already maxed my character on the PC version, otherwise I would most definitely grind with you on my Playstation 4.
 
I am also a crusader. Love it.

Also, random legendaries drop with your friends name on them. You send them to the PSN buddy whose name is on it. I found a couple today.

That's interesting. Do they drop for anybody, even ones that haven't played the game before?

Haha no problem! It's so cool, you just play and suddenly "gift for X" drops from a mob 😀 Just pick it up and send! Also, the nemesis thing is really cool and hard! The first time it spawned I was fighting some elites and a named... Let's just say the demon added me to his collection again and next time it spawned I was fighting two fallen crusaders and it!

A Thunderfury dropped for me from a treasure goblin yesterday, lvl42. I forgot how insanely OP that sword is 🙂

This game is still so much fun! Can't wait for the new patch! 😀
 
So, the loot you send your buddies is legendary but isn't generated until they open the gift. So far, every one of the legendaries I received were better than what I currently had. I venture this will always be the case.
