I thought they had ps2 games for DL as well if you had the 60 GB one?
I bought mine from GameStop and had no troubles. (Purely anecdotal, I know.) If they have an extended warranty, it _might_ be worth looking into. Otherwise, keep $150 around in case you need to send it back to Sony...Originally posted by: Pacemaker
If I wanted a 60gb I would probably get Text. It's refurbished, but it also has a much better price than what I could find on ebay when I looked.

They don't make 'em anymore. Good luck trying to find one at retail stores. $635 for a new one at amazon.com market place.

There are still four sitting in the Target display case 2 miles from my apartment as of 5pm today.

Either way I'm all about the newest 80 gig sku (not the MGS bundle). It uses ~130 watts of power compared to the 200+ watts used by the 60 gig. It's got the 65nm GPU/CPU combo and uses the newest heatsink. Supposedly it is a lot quieter during disc-read intensive games. It's the SKU I'm getting for sure.

 Wise choice if you don't care about BC and the flash reader. Sold my 80GB MGS4 and bought the 80GB core. The noise and temperature is night and day for me. With the exception of system on fan wind up, the 80GB core is near silent with playing games, playing BR/DVD movies, and left to do folding@home overnight. Temperature from exhaust fan on the right is cool to the touch or room temperature.

I would so get the new 80GB Core/160GB PS3 but without the flash reader and 2 More USB ports it kills it for me. I don't care much for BC. Is it me or does the PS3 scratch rather easily? It pisses me off since i don't do anything to really scratch it.

Seriously? Nyko sells a combination 3 port USB hub + flash reader for ~ $10. That solves both of your problems.
I have no idea what you could be doing to scratch it. You really shouldn't ever need to touch anything other than the eject and power buttons.
(And you have to dust it frequently, but it's hard to scratch something with dust)
