What are you typing on now? Oh thats right, a PC. And a "gaming" PC, costs a lot less than in years past.
Actually, I typed it on a Mac laptop that my employer so kindly lends me.

Fact is, most people have both. Who are you to tell someone that a game is not worth playing now? If someone never played Mass Effect, because they didnt have a 360, what is wrong with playing it now? Nothing.
You're missing the point, which is that "PC+PS3" vs "Xbox 360" is not even a remotely fair comparison in terms of cost. Do we get to just assume this magical PC has Blu-Ray, too, so as to nuke the PS3's main non-gaming advantage?

Ok, get picky. You have a desktop that can play any game out there, proving my point.

I didnt say anything in my post about a PS3.

A poster said that many of the exclusives for the 360, are also on the PC. Which give more credence to the PS3's exclusives (paraphrasing). And he has a point. People are discussing pro/cons of each, and he posted his input.

But to PLAY those "360 exclusives on the PC", you've got to buy a PC. If the choice is solely between consoles, the PC isn't entering into the equation at all. It's "games the 360 has that the PS3 does not, and vica versa".

Everyone has a gaming PC. You didn't get the memo?

More importantly, everyone who is capable of playing games on their PC wants to - because everyone prefers sitting in front of their computer using a keyboard and mouse. Because it's just better. And everyone who doesn't want to sit at their computer desk knows they can make an intricate computer setup in their living room with a wireless mouse and keyboard (which everyone has).

You don't know everyone?

I didn't take a count, but I think I buy more games for the 360 than for the PS3. However the PS3 gets 3x - 5x more play. If it's crossplatform, I'll usually get the 360 version, because most of the games tend to look better from lazy developers, examples like COD and Fallout. For my type of gaming, the PS3 exclusives is what I prefer and end up playing much longer. Also the reason my PS3 gets more usage is we tend to have more friends that have a PS3. I did notice that our younger friends 20's and under usually only had a 360. I'm in my 30's.

For media and all that good stuff, it's all PS3. I can't stand the noise from the 360, even though it's a Jasper unit. Also upgrading the HD on the PS3 was cheap, so I loaded up more media on there. And yes, we choose BR whenever we can over DVD.

Can't go wrong with either. Gaming only, I'd go with 360. Gaming and media, I'd go with PS3. It's just my preference.

Despite the thread title, I guess I was being realistic. Because it is a factor, if you play games that are out on the 360, on the PC. It only makes sense to factor it in, if you're such a person. Not everyone is, I am.

I was hardly the first person to bring this to the table. The 9th reply did, wayyy back on the first page. I can see people still just want to argue, so Im done with this thread. Its ran its course.

it may have ran it's course, but someone will start another thread in a few weeks, and like sheep, we'll all come herding in 😱

As fun as it is to rehash this conversation every week, we as a forum need to stop doing so and start directing people this way.

Sad, isn't it? We should do what R Nilla says, and just say no by pointing to the sticky.

*sigh*

That's not an issue for me or many of the people on this forum. I already have a PC that is more than capable for gaming.

I owned a X360 (Jasper) for 3 months. Sold it after playing the 360 games I couldn't play on the PC. Bought a used PSP recently to get my RPG fix.

Next console is likely to be a PS3 for the Blu-Ray and FF13...

isnt ff13 on 360 too?

Yes, and releasing at the same time, but it will likely be on multiple discs.

FF13 Versus is PS3 only though. And I find that FF13 Versus seems a lot more interesting than FF13, though my opinion is completely based on the trailers.

I bought my PS3 2 years ago for the BD, and that still amounts to 95% of the PS3's use, and I am quite happy.

that, and the GoW exclusive. 😉
