Protecting my media center from my kids

I just put together a pc as a media center for gaming and video in the living room. That's great and all but i have toddlers. So i can't just leave it sitting out next to the tv. They'll be sure to kick it, knock it over, stick stuff in it, etc. You know how kids are.

here's the case that I have:

If possible, I might also want to hide my logitech speakers with subwoofer.

I am looking for a cheap solution...i've spent enough already this holiday season. I am not looking to get anything huge like an armoire, etc.

Anyone have any suggestions.

puts kids on leashes

the problem is that when I go off to work doing the day, the kids have free reign...

Say goodbye to your children, I'm calling child protection services on you.

build one of those component cases, that will fit right into your stereo cabinet. Gateway used to sell one of those that was pretty nifty.

Uh, buy a night stand?

how is that going to protect my pc from my kids? That night stand would have to be pretty high. Besides, I am really looking for a cabinet type solution. Something that encloses the pc. Leaving it on on top of a night stand is asking for it to get knocked over.

set up automatic turrets that will shoot anyone who comes near the case.

all kidding aside, get a locking cabinent and put it all in there 🙂

sounds like you know what you want, if you wanna get something cheap go to walmart and buy an entertainment center/tv stand with cabinet doors

What about one of those plastic fences that you can set up to create a play area for a kid? You could set that up and make a little barrier around the media center during the day time.

I've got one for my 15 month old in our computer room that he can play in while my wife and I are on the computers and it works flawlessly. As I recall, it was maybe $20-$30 and you can fold it up and put it away when you're not using it.

I have a full blown entertainment rack and two kids under 5. I have never had trouble with them touching and playing with things they arent suppose to. Its called....parenting😉

EDIT Free reign? Who the hell is there when you go off to work😕

It's a mid-tower. A DVD player, VCR, etc, might fit in a tv stand but not a mid-tower
