Does CA need 60% for it to pass like FL?

Looks like it passed in Florida with over 60% YES

Sadly, it only needs a simple majority.

fix your constitution

Fuck, I voted for an Illinois Constitutional Convention. It got 68% but needed 75% to pass. I mostly would have enjoyed watching our state lawmakers meet and utterly fail at producing a better document. Chicago politics ruins this state. I wish that it was a separate entity. Or hell, Indiana can have it.

I'd rather we just start fresh with a new constitution (I'm fine with the American one, but California's definitely use a lot of fixes)

Yeah, like we really needed to waste state money on a constitutional convention.

What I think is interesting is that a pretty huge majority of African Americans in california voted to eliminate marriage rights for gay Americans. This according to exist polls. Whereas with other ethnic groups, there wasn't a majority of people supporting proposition 8. So just as American is electing it's first African American President, African Americans themselves are voting to deprive their fellow gay citizens of the right to marry. 😕

It's clearly not a right.

Is it a right for you to marry?

Thats not suprising, its pretty much known, and well documented(CNN has done stories on it), that black democrats do NOT support gay marriage. Especially those blacks in the south and the west.

Bigot.

I think your misreading what he said, looks like to me he wants the no vote, which went from 47% to 48%, to continue to increase, like it has.

I think he wants it measure to fail. at least that how i read it. I think writing this kind of crap into any constitution is a bad idea.
