It seems to me that your line of thinking has brought you to the silly conclusion that just because your brother has his doctorate cobol architecture he suddenly knows more than everybody else about all software and is an instant master in everything from crystal reports to medical software used to track my prostate infections.

He's not, cause there are 9 guys that are better than me and I'm better than him! Personally I'd put him around top 50, MAYBE top 40, but not even top 30 let alone top 5. One of the competitions was to create a 3d game with an engine at least as capable as that used in Quake and it took him nearly 3 hours to write from scratch. Pretty slow, really.
