Shouldn't be too surprising, this is ATOT afterall. :p

Um, isn't Toyota Japanese? Didn't you say that you would buy a Lexus/Toyota? But you won't by Honda because it's Japanese?

There's nothing wrong with making a statement, but is it really worth it? IMO, it's not when you end up hurting yourself

Do you look at everything you buy to make sure it doesen't have a made and/or designed in Japan sticker?

I understand why people flame you for it, it seems like a knee-jerk reaction to something that happened in the past that you don't agree with.

It just seems that there are far more productive things you could do with your views.

you misread my statement, i said IF i were to buy a japanese car it would be a toyota / lexus. i've always felt they made the best cars. but i don't.

My hate is always the real honest to goodness justifiable hate. Some of us know all about what the Japanese did before and during WW2. In WW3 doubtless Japanese babies will be butchered to even the score just because of this justified inabolity to let go, to get over the past, and to realize that the guilty Japanese are almost all dead and all will be soon. Keep hate alive! Keep hate alive!

A truck with 120 thousand is new.

It's because you are feeding the hatred. You are making a "political stance" for something you never lived throu.

You'll buy a Korean car, what about all the acts of inhumanity the N. Korean gov has brought upon it's people and the people it has abducterd from Japan???

Hypocrit.

I'm going to stick up for LeeTJ on this one because i know where he's coming from. He's not the only korean person who I know that don't buy japanese cars. They don't hate japanese people because they are racists. It's just a political statement; the same reason why some people don't buy products from companies that use sweatshop labor.

The bottom line: not about hatred or racism. And who the hell are you people to tell him how he should feel?

Show me a car made by a North Korean car company and I'll show you a car I won't buy.

I'm with LeeTJ. If he wants to boycott a product, who are we to tell him differently?

Damn good cars too. My '95 Camry LE has 122,500 miles on it and is still smooth and efficient. Sure, I hear a few squeaks every once in a while, but the damn thing is nearly 10 years old:p

My '94 has 127k on it. Only issue is a bit of engine vibration when at idle or at a stop light. Other than that, runs pretty damn well for being pretty old.

According to the latest information from JD Power & Associates, which car manufacturer is FAR AND AWAY the best? Toyota! Which company did we study the most in my Operations Management classes? Toyota! I can't blame Americans for wanting to buy the brand that will spend the least time in the shop!

Thank you Jooksing and Spooon

hehehe, i bet a lot of these "stop the hatred" morons were probably AGAINST the war on Iraq and supported boycotts.

isn't the US history FULL of boycotts?? we boycotted South Africa. . .

so, it's ok to boycott countries as a country but it's not ok for me to do it?

IT IS okay... I'd tell the Afro Americans to get TF over the whole slavery reparations issue as well. And BTW, I'm Chinese, and the Japs during the 40's screwed my country over WORSE than you can possibly imagine. But hey, its a new day, and we're a few generations removed.

If you want to remember, good for you.

North Korea and South Korea didn't exsist as seperate enities untill the korean war. So the North has a different government, JUST AS JAPAN DOES NOW.
Would you buy a German car??

Oh wait so you will buy German cars, so you support the Nazi's then.

so? i choose to pick my battes. you have a problem with that?? i singlehandedly cannot tackle all the worlds problems even tho people like you probably would like me to so that you can sit back in your comfortable lazyboys and watch sports on tv, but i can't. i am limited by the scope of my social circle and by my time, so i chose which battles i'll fight.

I hope that wasn't too difficult for you to understand.

btw, North Korean government exist Simultaneously with the South Korean government, not like the Japanese government of today vs that of the government during WWII.

also, IT IS THE SAME government. Terms of the treaty was that the Japanese Emporer be left IN POWER. Americans ALLOWED JAPANESE to save face by not DEMANDING A SURRENDER but signing a PEACE TREATY. sure it's just a technical difference but it's amazing that americans would concede that but they did.

when the japanese occupied Korea, NOT only did they remove the local government but they tried to Destroy our HISTORY and our Language.

I will be the first to admit that toyota's are great family cars. If I was in the passenger seat of a car and wanted to take a nap, I could not ask for a better and smoother ride than Toyota to sleep to. Very quiet and smooth.
But they are a bit too floaty for my taste, I really don't want my cars to feel like boats. I will even go as far as to say that they have the best build quality of all automakers for the money. But the problem for me is not the execution, it's the formula.
Well executed Vanilla is still Vanilla.

Me I'm boycotting English goods because of King George. That bastard didn't want us going free. And don't tell me that something that happened 200 years ago isn't just like boycotting sweatshops in business today. My hate justifies anything and makes even absurdities look rational.

Get in the real world and boycott something that makes sense. Your old hate is insane. That's a political opinion I'm expressing to you. You have every right to be a nut cake. I just what to point it out. The times long passed to harbor such stupid ancient grievances. How much killing does it take, how many race religious and ethnic wars do there have to be before you see that you are the cause, you who hate. Modern Japan actuall learned something from the sins of their past as did the Germans. And the victoms want revenge, want to wipe out all that hard won wisdom because they themselves have not learned.

I don't have as an emotional reason as Lee does, I just hate Japanese cars and won't buy one, simply because I grew up around a muscle car crowd and my parents hated Japanese autos...personally no matter how technically superior they are I just cannot bring myself to spend a dime on one...german, american, british...heck anything except japanese, and nothing anyone says will change that.
