Gonna go home tonight, pan fry a nice ham steak. Have some mashed potatoes with butter on them, maybe some creamed corn on top of that.

No worries there, heart attack will take care of the problem before cancer has a chance!

Yea, I don't eat like I used to... Nowadays, I eat often under a pound of meat at many meals, and, I am eating more chickens and fishes, and only eating beef, pork, or lamb like 5 or 6 meals per week instead of 14+. Also I eat a Salad like every week now. Salad is boring, but getting lots of onions added to it, and some chilles, makes it interesting. Olives help too!

So, I overheard a co-worker today say "the UN or someone said that eating meat is more dangerous than smoking". I clarified things.
It's not a surprise, given that he's an idiot (that's literally how I refer to him when discussing him with anyone outside work, "Idiot [Name]" since it's a common name).
I doubt my clarification will stick.

Yeagh, abscess.
Maybe eating processed food is better, those nitrosamines are at least sterilizing the food a bit... D:

Ignorance can be such bliss sometimes...

If a primal arrived at your local grocer like that it would be discarded to the bone-can. The vendor might be contacted with a picture of the affected primal so a credit would be calculated for the store. We have a guy working with us now who started in the Supermarkets in the '70's and some of the stories he tells me are wild. Meat managers HATE to lose $$ so he said if hot dogs or bologna were going out of date it would get thrown into the hamburger. Then he told me of a manager who would throw crushed ice in the grinder hopper along with the meat, water is free profit. Then he said he had a manager who told them whenever a customer bought a whole NY strip they were instructed to take 2 steaks out of it and keep them for the store. Every week it seems he has another horror story to pass along.

If this drives prices lower due to lower demand, I sure as hell won't complain! 😀

The 'science' behind this is bullshit frequentist statistics. It in no way takes into account the prior probabilities and thus can die in a fire.
