Are they fitted onto the raid controller or the nornal ide. Are you raiding them. Are you trying to install win 2000 or is win 2000 allready installed on them. Answer some of these questions and i might be able to help.
well they are connected to the ata controllers. i am not raidin them or anything. i just plugged them in and everyone is on its own. the first one on the primary master and the second one is on the primary slave. win2k is installed already and my controller is highpoint.
thanks loopy
It could be becouse when win 2000 installes you need to install the driver for the raid controller even thou you are not raiding them or you have installed the wrong drivers for the raid controller. When i set my system up i had a hole lot of problems becouse i wasnt installing the drivers and when i did they were the wrong drivers. the easy way to test this is by changing the drive onto the standars ide controller. Hope this helps if not give me a shout.
i tried to swtich them to IDE controller they worked fine. but i wanna put them on the ata100 controllers. still no good. i realy dont know what to do. i got the drivers installed from the disk that came with the mobo. it looks fine but everytime i start win2k it crashes on start up and wont go anywhere. i would apprecaite the feed back.thanks.
1. YOu have to load the Highpoint drivers from within W2K
2. You have to enable the Highpoint controller from within the bios
3. If your boot drive is on the Highpoint controller, you have to make the Highpoint controller your first boot device from within the bios.
