It could be becouse when win 2000 installes you need to install the driver for the raid controller even thou you are not raiding them or you have installed the wrong drivers for the raid controller. When i set my system up i had a hole lot of problems becouse i wasnt installing the drivers and when i did they were the wrong drivers. the easy way to test this is by changing the drive onto the standars ide controller. Hope this helps if not give me a shout.

1. YOu have to load the Highpoint drivers from within W2K
2. You have to enable the Highpoint controller from within the bios
3. If your boot drive is on the Highpoint controller, you have to make the Highpoint controller your first boot device from within the bios.

Should cover it. :)
