Problems with AMD and ATI CARDS TOGETHER?

I heard that AMD processors and ATI vid cards dont work well together and can some suggest a CPU AND MOBO combo that works with an ATI 8500 LE vid card?

I'd be more worried about a compatible power supply than cpu/chipset.

No hes right and wrong!Its Amd and (VIA) and ati that has the problems not amd and ati card because amd has nvidia and sis for chipsets. So if you got a VIA chipset i can help.

I have a AMD/ATI 9100 (same as 8500LE) combo on a Nforce2 board.

I think it was a small driver issue with VIA boards....but I wouldnt worry, if you have a VIA board, just update your drivers.

wrong! updating does nothing, updating makes it worse, so you have to unstall in-order to get the stablity error gone. Pm for for some help if you need some for a via+amd+radeon setup.

You can`t go wrong with any of the nForce 2 boards with your 8500 card.

perhaps you are remembering the days when the AMD sledgehammer (760?) chipset had problems with some ATI cards...but thats a while back...
