With your XP CD in the drive, run
START
RUN
type SFC /scannow
or SFC \scannow
always get my / and \ mixed up - not very professional!!!!
 
So does anyone have any suggestions for problem #3 I can do?
I might get Nero soon so problem #1 may soon go away, although if you have an answer please anaswer it. Just 3 problems to go!
 
As for problem #2 goto Tweak XP. The first thing I do when I build a new box or reinstall OS is uninstall MS Messenger and the cleartype. Depends what you are looking for. I suggest scanning the utilities section.
 
For problem #3... try erasing your local files (in each game options accessible by right-clicking thegame in steams games window) then re-downloading them.
I had a similar problem with some textures mostly on day of defeat and it did the trick.
 
Hey confused pictures are great but a picture is worth a thousand words. Mind giving a description on when it pops up. I get this dialog box when I want to eject one of my usb drives. I am assuming this is your internal drive. I am also assuming this is up during boot since there is no task bar present in your pic.

Also I don't know why you would want to turn off system restore after is has saved your butt a few times. I have 4 drives I turn it off for my other drives but the C stays turned on.
 
Ok here's a few things:

1: Whoever that can understand what Mokmo418 means please translate it into a sentence I can understand. =)

2: This happens the whole time, I'm not taking anything out, it's not during boot up. It never pops up, but the picture thing is in the system tray, I cannot close it (as in take away the ppicture from the system tray). I want this thing to get off my system tray and leave me alone so I never have to see it again.

3: Ok I guess I won't diasble system restore. Thanks for the input. =)

Ok I tried that and I got no luck. Still need help for problem #4.
 
As far as your SATA drive showing up as a removable device, this is normal. SATA drives are hot-swappable, and anything hot-swappable in windows shows up like that. A reformat will end up with your drive doing the same thing.
 
Why is it annoying?
Just be happy that it works and get on with life.

There was a time when it was thought that computers were going to make things easier for us, but it turns out that we are trying to make things easier for computers.
