Question Problem with connecting ssd via usb

I have a Samsung PM981a 512GB SSD M.2 PCIe x4 NVMe and I can't find a way to connect it to my pc via usb or usb c (so as an external drive). I already tried with this adapter (a friend of mine suggested me that it was the right one), but it doesn't work, and I don't know how to find one that tells me that it's 100% sure that it's compatible.
Can someone help me to find the right adapter? Or am I missing something (maybe I should approve the ssd first? In case, where do I do it?)

I use a plugable and it works with any drive I've thrown at it.

Those look interesting, I like the tool-less design. Seems a bit pricey for an enclosure though.

Thanks! You have a knack for finding really cool stuff 🙂

I tested about 5 different options from cheap to not so cheap and this had the best results for speed and thermals.

On the thunderbolt side Acasis won the battle for enclosure paired with a SN770 for speed. Able to get roughly 3GB/s in either direction with multithread copies.
