Problem starting windows xp

I have windows xp pro sp2 on my main computer, and I am having trouble with it starting. I will go through the bios screens and the during the windows xp loading screen I get a quick blue screen (for only a split second) and then the machine restarts. This happens every time. Now sometimes it will load without a problem. I am running a64 3000 a wd raptor (SATA) HDD, 1 gb pc 3200 ram (Kingston), Asus mb, msi geforce 5900 xt. I never had this type of problem before. What could it be.? I tried different memory thinking that I had bad memory, but no success.
