All I can say is WOW... What kind of things do you say to convince them? I would be curious to know because I work at a IT job (web design) and can attempt to add some more computers there if I knew the right words... I am really trying to get the "MAC" guy to join with his 1 Dual G4 500 and G3 400...

Once again.. Amazing work...Simply amazing...

Nice additions, Congrats on all the hard work paying off.
In a very short time the TA-Cube should be getting 100k and more on a daily average.😀😀😀

It will be an almost impossible task for us (The Federation) to keep up with such a keyrate-growth, but we will try. 😛😛😛

I completely agree with Engineer of honouring you in the name of The Federation.

Also, I'm very curious how you initial letter looks. Maybe some other TA-members can use it?

Peter.

Update:

MegalodoN has joined with his dual P3-733. 🙂
Chrichtonsgirl has a P3 450MHz.
Rogue is starting to crack on a 1Ghz Athlon Classic and will probably also do so on a 700MHz Athlon Classic at home too.
Bakwetu will crack an a Celeron 366@550. He will try to convince a lab administrator (himself already on SETI) and get a few Macs using the client and instructions in Paulson's excellent tutorial.
Windogg will assimilate the machines in her office. She is the one giving permission, so that won't be a problem. 🙂

Cheers and welcome to all.

Wooooooooooooooooooooo Mooooooooooooooooooo!!! 🙂

Go Team Anandtech. Go Borg! 🙂

Peter, check you mail (I am afterall an Honorary Captain of The Federation). 😉

Chiwawa626 just added his T-bird 900MHz to the Collective. Welcome and thank you for your support.

Go Borg!! 😉

Go TA!!! 🙂

Is he or the admin doing SETI ? whichever ,have they joined the WU's to TA SETI?

Assimilator1,

The admin has SETI running on his personal computer. That is all I know.

Time now to add JCIV and his k6-2 540MHz (4.5x120). Welcome to the team and thank you for your contribution. 🙂

LeBlatt,

Here's my response to your assimilation, a small message I just received from Chad:

"Ok, I'm in. I'll set it up on all the computers at work and my home system later tonight.

We have 8 servers at work, most are dualies and my home system is a celery 566 running @ 952."

😉

I can't wait for Windogg to set up her machines. Drool! 😛

Go TA!!! Go BORG!!!

Ok. Dexmanone adds his k62-333 to the fray. Welcome to the team! 🙂

Oh...BTW...I just got this little confirmation from Chad: 😉

"I'm the admin, so don't sweat it, all of em are my servers.

I have to many systems to list, a lot of them quad setups, alot of xeons and whatnot."

What can I say but...

VERY COOL!!!🙂🙂🙂

No problem Peter. 🙂

BTW, I just got Chad's list of servers. Can someone look these up to make it a list of cpu&MHz that I can send to Russ? Here they are:

2 - Dell PowerEdge 6100/200's.
2 - Dell PowerEdge 6300's.
3 - Dell PowerEdge 2300's.
2 - Dell OptiPlex GX1's.
2 - 166mhz Pentium scrap system's.

1 - 566 Celeron 2 @ 952 home system. (already in the herd)

Very cool! 🙂🙂🙂

Time to add LAUST and his:

P3 550MHz
P2 400MHz

Thanks for your contribution and welcome to Team Anandtech and to THE BORG!!! 🙂

2 - Dell PowerEdge 6100/200's = 8 - 200MHz Pentium Pros.
2 - Dell PowerEdge 6300's = 8 - 400MHz Xeon's.
3 - Dell PowerEdge 2300's = 6 - 400MHz Pentium II's.
2 - Dell OptiPlex GX1's = 2 - 400MHz Pentium II's.
2 - 166mhz Pentium scrap system's.
1 - 952MHz Celeron 2

Thanks a lot Chad. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!!! 🙂

BTW, time to add Specialist's 900MHz Thunderbird to the fray. 🙂

Welcome to the team and thanks a lot for your contribution. 🙂

Robert01 just joined with a K6-2 400MHz. 🙂

Welcome to the team.

Noriaki is now cracking on his soon-to-be overclocked Athlon 550MHz.

Welcome to Team Anandtech and thanks a lot for your contribution. 🙂

Go TA!!! Go BORG!!! 🙂

imagine where we would be if we were all well respected and well liked members of the OT. Way to go dennil!

Update:

Time to add to the BORG...

jbaj007-->P3 500MHz
zilldian-->P3 700@807MHz
Skoorb--> 1/2 of a dual Celeron 533 (the other half runs SETI)

Thanks a lot all and welcome to Team Anandtech and to the Collective.

🙂

I ask people politely and stress the ease of use of the Borg disk (the main reason these people are jumping on board). I supply them with relevant links (e.g. to Paulson's tutorial). I answer any question promptly (e.g. a step-by-step installation blurb based on the TA Cube specific dialup disk) and I stress a positive, never-pushy attitude. Finally, and I do it because it is so true, I make them feel important and appreciated.

🙂
