Thx for the individual stats. I had changed my settings, but I wasn't getting any of Sophie WUs until this morning. Hopefully, my little 2500k can make up for lost time.

Thanks for the stat Peter. Looks like my 1090T went down several hours back. Unfortunately, I'm out of town and won't be back for another 24 hours. :hmm:

My Phenom 2 840 was starved out this morning, I had to tell it to get with the program and it downloaded a couple WU's...

I knew something was up when I passed you :p

This is one reason I like having RDP setup back to my WHS server, then having the crunchers run ESXi, I can quickly see a dashboard of what is going on and even if the client OS takes a crap you can reset the VM, etc. Of course that has a ton of drawbacks too...

But if you haven't dropped $50 on WHS 2011, I really recommend it, even if just for the remote console capability.

Installing Windows Live Mesh can also get you into a host and then you can use RDP from there, that is how I access the 2500k at my parents house...

Thanks for the stats, Peter :) It looks like we have stabilized our lead, no?

.1 or .25 (my usual cache depth)

Seems slow at first, but I just got a big shot of WUs after changing my ESXi 5 box over to Hyper-V for Class (and likely the rest of the race, depending on performance...)

Good I have mine set to .1.
Unfortunately one of the boxes, a quad core, will simply not get any work.
It always says no work. :(

I am going to put that to crunch something else. I've tried reboot and manually requesting but nada.

There's tasks in the que and it was running at "stock" settings. Hopefully it's not a hardware problem. that's the second MB in that rig and the Ethernet controller has died on that board.

Very annoying, I'd say. At least the project seems to have held up reasonably well under the load...

Sim1 still needs some TeAm love :) I'll be putting things back on that later today until we break the 1M barrier...

Jeeze, that's a bummer :( What motherboard is it? Sounds like one I should avoid!

At stock, things should just work...

I'm only getting 6 units at a time and it's not auto updating. What settings should I change to fix that? Sorry for the n00b question. I guess I don't understand BOINC enough.

GA-990fx-ud5, I think. I'll be back on sim1 in about 22 hours.

Man, really? I like (I mean, really like) Gigabyte boards... That's a shame. Was the first board a GA one as well?

Under Tools --> Computing Preferences --> Network Usage I have it set to connect about every .1 days and have a queue of .25 days. Maybe not the nicest settings for the projects, but it keeps the WU's moving upstream and keeps my queue filled relatively nicely...

Wow, I completely forgot about the end of the race until just now! :$ Fortunately, every machine except my slowest laptop flushed on time or close to on time.

That was a rough race for me. My Fx8120 went down for 6 hours one night for some unknown reason (log said core failure - I even backed off my OC for the race). My 960T went down for about 12 hours. Suddenly boinc showed no projects, etc. Took a restart to get it back. That is on a fresh install of Ubuntu too.
Oh and one of my X6's sat there idle because it refused to upload/download tasks. I think it was idle for some 6+ hours. That machine is one of the few that is NOT wireless. No idea why, but this race made a mess of my machines.

I'll have a better showing next race I hope.

Well at least the TeAm did about is good as we could without maybe 4 more crunchers like Petrus. I haven't looked ahead but with the amount of races that incorporate nvidia crunching I think this race will probably be my best.

I agree.

These WU's certainly were taxing (not nice to hardware...) My Q6700 couldn't take it even with the CPU fan full and only running three tasks, I just had to reset it as it was frozen...

We did a very good race. We have the best starting position ever: 12th position in the first race, 7th in the third, the second not counting ...

We should be proud and happy: we are not so many crunchers - only 16 - and we have done well.

If we could get more people to race, we would do better. 30 crunchers each producing 10 000 points, which is very much possible, would make 300 000 points in this race. Each core counts. One core @ 15 minutes/wu = 4 WUs/hour, = 48 WUs/12 hours = 667 points/12 hours. With 8 cores that is 5 336 points in 12 hours, or, if the cores run 24 hours/day, 21K points in this race.

Team 2ch had 85 members crunching, SETI.Germany 86 crunchers. It is not the power of one or two crunchers that decide, but also the number of people donating their computer time.
SETI.Germany had a median production of 16 000 points per cruncher, Team 2ch produced 8600 points per cruncher.

Looking behind us BOINC@Poland had more than 70 crunchers, and we beat them soundly.

Great job all! :)

Looks like I'll be helping with the clean up until I get home in about 8 hours.

@blckgrffn, the first MB was an asus (failed memory Channel). I've had good luck with both gigabyte and asus boards in general but bad luck with those 990fx boards.
