Quick question on flushing WU's - I check my machines each morning around this time before I leave for work. On my win7 machines there will be some completed WU's that are 'ready to report'.
Why don't these report without me having to hit 'update'?
The WU has already uploaded, however I have to hit 'indicate' to make the WU disappear from my queue.
I have noticed that my points are not showing up until I hit the 'update' button as well. My concern is going to be on the 10th when I am not home to flush any 'ready to report' WU;s before the deadline.

Or am I losing my mind? It's still early enough that I don't have any caffeine running through the veins.

What I do to get around this problem is to create a file called cc_config.xml with a text editor and drop it into your boinc folder. You'll need to stop and restart boinc for it to become effective. "report_results_immediately" does the job for me. "1" means "on" and 0 means "off"

The contents are:

<cc_config>
<options>
<report_results_immediately>1</report_results_immediately>
</options>
</cc_config>

hmm it appears everything is there but the account_www.primegrid.com.xml was corrupted and now contains no data..

:( Sorry, I don't know enough to help you... I hope you get it figured out :)

Yes, a belated welcome to the latest racers! Exciting that we might battle into an even higher position than last year!

I tried to use an xml primegrid file from another computer but that didn't work because I assume there a computer identifier in there some where that was not correct since its obviously a different host. The only identifier I could find seemed to be user specific and not host. There was some string of letters and numbers that I think was the unique host identifier but it wasnt as simple as looking up the host on the primegrid website and cutting and pasting host number. I ended up just reinstalling primgrid and writing over the wu. I guess I will have to back up those xml files in the future incase this happens again. This wouldnt be as big of a problem if boinc wasnt switching wu at 99.9% complete...just annoying.

Day 3 stats are a little late. I've somehow made my mouse nearly unusable on Linux. :( But crunching continues.

Me too! I hate to be a noob, but could you be really specific about which folder to put this in? I've tried googling this stuff and usually takes a while to get the real answer...

Please and thank you! :)

On the windows side it goes in the boinc data directory (same directory where the project folders are located).

I run linux out of a single folder in my home directory (Berkeley shell script installer). I'm not sure where the file goes when you use a distribution installer.

Here's a link with much more info: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Client_configuration

This race is really tense. It may in the end be that lone or two WUs decide the result ...
Please crunch more, add cores, computers and WUs to the race!

Hmm, "Show all tasks" is showing I have five Reisel LLR WUs completed and "Ready to report".

Wonder why they aren't automagically being sent in.

Welcome, Larry, to these stats! Very good to see you! :)

1083 participants in the stats.

We dropped one rank to #7, which is still a very, very good result. Let us try for an excellent finish during the last 24 hours of the race!

57*F outside and raining. With the windows closed and all 5 machines chugging along, it reached 79*F inside and the air conditioner turned on. Ouch.

I used to open my window in the winter when I had the i7 920 @ 4.1. It was still warm, but at least it was bearable...

Less than 24 hours to go. Wish I could be at home right before the end of the race to juggle wu's more efficiently.
Best of luck to everyone these last 24 hours. We are not too far behind 6th place.
