Price drop?

Looks like ATI is winning the price/performance with NVidia. Way to go competition!!!

Battlefield2
ATI 1800XL @ 1600x1200_4xAA : 57.7 fps / $250 = 0.23 frames per second per dollar
7800 GT @ 1600x1200_4xAA : 56.2 fps / $280 = 0.20 frames per second per dollar

Far Cry
ATI 1800XL @ 1600x1200_4xAA : 60.3 fps / $250 = 0.24 frames per second per dollar
7800 GT @ 1600x1200_4xAA : 63.1 fps / $280 = 0.22 frames per second per dollar

Sorry to double post, but I think this is what it should look like:

Looks like Nvidia is winning the price/performance with Ati. Way to go competition!!!

Battlefield2
ATI 1800XL @ 1600x1200_4xAA : 57.7 fps / $325 = 0.18 frames per second per dollar
7800 GT @ 1600x1200_4xAA : 56.2 fps / $280 = 0.20 frames per second per dollar

Far Cry
ATI 1800XL @ 1600x1200_4xAA : 60.3 fps / $325 = 0.19 frames per second per dollar
7800 GT @ 1600x1200_4xAA : 63.1 fps / $280 = 0.22 frames per second per dollar

sisq0kidd, why do you show the XL at $350, when the first link clearly shows it for $325? The OP was wrong, its $350 with a $25 instant saving, no mail in bs.

Thats a heck of a price on the XL, nice to see it drop so fast.

What's the warrenty on OEM parts. The description is wrong, memory speed is listed as 500mhz while all other descriptions show the x2 DDR rate of 1000, unless they really are using crappy 250mhz memory.

Not really an apple to apple comparison anyway. The price for the xl is wrong, but it's an OEM compared to GT retails. The cheapest XL retail is 369.

NM, according to Monarch Computers Site- this card is covered with a 2 yr warrenty so it doesn't really matter if it's OEM or retail.

It does have better AF, calling him is newb is not helping the thread.

It is pretty ironic though you calling someone else a newb... since you have a 200Mhz FSB CPU, and 166Mhz ram...

Um, the memory is clocked at 500Mhz, but the "effective" clock speeds are 1000Mhz since it's DDR memory. Some stores post the real clocks, others post the effective clocks.
