I hate you guys, you make me spend money! Hehe, thanks for the deal, time to silence my coolermaster.

I tried shipping cost for 1 and 3 of them and cheapest is $5.95 (airborne ground). Steep if you want just one!

Have you been to the post office lately and try to ship something simple from priority mail? $4.85 minimum and then you have to pay a guy to pack it etc... So $6 is not really all that bad.

I try to order in bulk, makes it worth the while.

ummm...the post offices I go to start at $3.85 priority mail. Pay the guy to pack it? I think many would have packing materials from the stuff they order online.

Thats interesting bcz when I ordered last time I got mine from fedex.

Thanks for the info, Blooz. Wonder if I can buy those fans and get the adapter from case-mod for 3 pin?

Or you can pay a few more bucks and get the Vantec ThermoFlow, in case you need something better in the summer.

I prefer Silencers myself, but these are great for the price and definitely produce more airflow. The Silencers however are completely noiseless, whereas I can hear a slight whir from these if I stick my ear up to em.

Besides some fans emitting some particularly annoying noises (both slow and fast ones), I'm thinking it all just comes down to RPM. And that there's nothing special in particular with any of these "quiet" fans that would make them significantly quieter except that they spin at a lower RPM (and they cost more). The higher the RPM, the more wind noise you're going to get, which would increase if there are any obstructions in the path (which there almost always are). My motherboard supports setting fan RPM through software. And adjusting my high speed fans to a lower RPM gives me just as low noise as some of the specialty "quiet" fans I have. Using higher RPM fans and adjusting their RPMs through software has the added advantage of being able to increase airflow when necessary. With the "quiet" fans, I was stuck at low RPMs regardless of the cooling needs.

Just a quick FYI...they also carry the Vantec Stealth fan for $5.99.
Have any of you used both Panaflo and Vantec Stealth? I've only used the Stealth, and wasn't too thrilled with the noise from it. I'm either super sensitive, or the Stealths just don't cut it for silent computing.
I'd be interested in some input about that too, and no, I don't think you're super sensitive. I bought a few of those Vantec Stealth fans last year. First and last Vantec product I'll ever buy. Any company that has the nerve to call these fans "stealth" isn't getting any more of my business.
If you read the cooling forum, the noise level of the vantec fans seem to be overexaggerated. People that have used both have said the panaflo is quieter. Note however that some people have had clicking problems with the batch of fans from case-mod.

I found the Vantech Stealths to emit a particularly annoying whine that made it less bearable than my higher RPM fans. I got them mainly because they pushed more CFMs with hardly a change in the dB rating compared to the Panaflos. They turned out to be a waste of money though. And I agree..."stealth" is the wrong name for these fans.

What motherboard is that? And what software?

I got a Zalman 80mm case fan instead. The L1A panaflos just don't pump out enough air in my opinion. I have a set of M1A's and they are not as quiet as I'd like them to be so hopefully the Zalman will work for me. I also jumped on their sale on rounded IDE cables and the Zalman Northbridge Chipset Heatsink and some other stuff. Payed $10.30 2nd day air shipping for 2.75lbs of stuff. I already got a tracking number from Fedex(don't ask me, I thought it was going to be through AirBorne).

Overall, I think I will be happy with the items and the price. I was going to get a set of Vantec Stealth's at a price of $7.50 a piece but I kept putting it off. Good thing I waited considering all the negative comments I've seen so far.

They still have to pay an EMPLOYEE to pack the things, not to mention that packing materials do cost money. And if they are shipped via carrier and not USPS then they have to pay to have there stuff picked up each day.

Order more than one to save on shipping.

great deal, thanks for the post. I'm building a new system and was going to go with the Vantec Stealths, but at this price, i had to jump on these. Especially since i am local. Case-mod didn't used to offer local pick up, but it seems now they do 🙂

I have to say thanks for the updated deal - even though I couldn't afford all the money I saved!

Placed a $40 order by 3:30 PM CDT and it has already shipped FedEx - and I ordered it ground UPS....

On another note, I placed a big order with SVC on Tuesday and it was sitting on my doorstep today in IL! Once again, not too shabby!!

Is it safe to use these on CPU heatsyncs?

AND, a stupid question. I see on the linked website text that says "NOTE: These fans are 2 pin tailed. If you would like to use the fans for a 3 pin application, you can purchase the 3 pin adapter for $0.15 below. Installation takes about 5 seconds and involves unplugging the current clip and then plugging in the new one."

I ordered some Panaflows from SVC awhile back. They are tail-less, they are just bare leads. I do have some plugs. It feels as though the wire goes into the plug a small way but I can't get it to go through all the way. How do you force a wire through the tail so that you can actually use the fan?

I don't know if I will buy from these guys again. They don't answer the phone and they have yet to respond to my email about the missing part from the order I received. I will let you know how it goes but if you don't want to hassle with receiving incomplete orders and non existent customer service I suggest you spend the extra $ and buy from newegg.

edit
It seems I was a little over reactive about their customer service. I called them today at Noon but of course it was like 9AM over there and no one was even there so they didn't pick up the phone. I did call them last week too around 2 or 3PM my time but they didn't pick up then but they may have been on lunch or something. I did just receive a call from them verfiying the missing part and they have already shipped it to me. That is something I wasn't expecting. Great response time.

just buy coolermaster rifle bearing neon fans and save yourself the trouble, and prettier to boot.

For the people lacking three pin connectors on their mobos you can buy four pin connectors that convert to three pin connectors. I believe u can find them at directron.com or SVC

Well, about a month ago I went for their LED fan and SK-7 sales. The fans came right away, but the heatsink was backordered for almost 2 weeks. The casemod people weren't very quick at all in answering email for about a week due to a 'server crash' they weren't aware of. They ended up sending me a double order (2nd set free!) of case fans.

I've made 2 or 3 purchases from them altogether, and it's onlt this last one that was less than smooth. I'll probably buy from them again in the future at some point, but I think they need to pay some attention to customer service.

I think they are getting hit with the "anandtech effect" but are trying hard. I put an order in about a month ago when this deal first surfaced for some fans, a heatsink and a couple of miscellaneous parts-about $40 all together.

It took about two weeks for my order to arrive. When it arrived it was about half the order (no heatsink) and the worse packing job I ever saw. I emailed them-no response for several days. I posted some rather negative comments in a previous thread.

They eventually called me (CA to CT) and apologized. They said emails to me bounced because my mail server had them marked as a spammer (I'm using web based mail-mail.com- where the service has gone way downhill recently). They promptly shipped out a complete replacement of my order.

Customer service is for when orders go bad. These guys came through for me and completely corrected their error. I would order there again.

wow, this place is great. i ordered 5 panaflo fans at 3.49 each plus the 1 cent extra for 5 fans for the 3 pin tail. they were very easy to switch with the standard 2 pin it came with. i ordered on august 28th and they shipped august 28th and i got it today the 29th. one day turnaround time. very sweet. i am only about 2 hours away from them but still i am impressed.
