I'll consider giving up on publicly funded health care when those lying, bloated Congressional whores selling their votes to big insurance and big pharma give up their own free, fully funded, top or the line Congressional medical care.

Tom Coburn brought an Amendment in the healthcare bill that mandated federal employee's(including senators and representatives) to sign up for the public option.

"If the public option is so wonderful, will you lead by example and vote for a plan to enroll you and your family in the public option?

I offered an amendment in committee to force members of Congress to enroll in the public option. Nine out of eleven Democrats on the health committee who back the public option refused. If the politicians creating the public option don?t have confidence in it, neither should the American people"

Do you really expect Dick Cheney, Robert Byrd, and Ted Kenedy to give up their excellent healthcare for the public option?

It would depend on what's in it. While representatives and senators most certainly have a good health care plan, there's more to consider there. I think that it is uniquely important for our executive and legislators to be able to do their jobs, and so I'm okay with giving them a higher standard of care. (I don't think the President should be waiting in line at the emergency room if something goes wrong.) So to say that they should just sign up for a standard health plan seems foolish to me.
