the new legacy and outbacks are nice.

my heart is still set on the new volvo v50 AWD. volvo has an overseas worker program where you can buy a car from the factory in sweden, drive it while you're doing work over there, then they'll ship it back to you. not bad.

What do you guys think about Outback or Forester? I'm considering buying either one.
I need a steady work-horse that would take me skiing to Tahoe in winter, carry bikes in summer, have a good clearance and AWD, but better handling and fuel economy than SUVs. I just can't decide between Outback and Forester.

I've heard rumors of a Forester STi model in the future. That car should be a real kick to drive.

There's also a rumor of a Legacy STi. I guess we'll see on both rumors;)

I just want a 2 door STI... :(

Eh. 4 doors works fine for me. Add a roof rack and you're invisible to the cops;)

I think a Legacy STi is all but certain: same 300HP turboed H4, 6-speed MT, Brembo breaks, etc...all wrapped in a nice sleeper car! I would expect it to sell in the $35K+ range.

Forrester is a chick car. Then again, I want a Miata ;)

How the hell is it a chick car? Looks pretty rugged to me.

Don't blame me, I like it. But it's a chick car.

Nice

Only complaint is the price (about 2k too high) and the turn signals in the mirrors are a little too big.

Any ideas what the turbo'd Volvo S40's w/ AWD are running? Sweet looking little car. It's a ton faster than a Mazda 3, and will handle better than the 3 already does. That little sucker would probably be a blast to drive.

I still haven't decided on the color yet, but this Legacy in red is HOT!

PIC

Sometime during Labor Day weekend I will head up to the north side of Atlanta and test drive a 5-speed MT version. Can't wait!

careful, the trunk on that is smaller than on your miata :Q

Trunk is 14 cu. ft. IIRC. Smaller then my Accord but oh well....

And bR, I've had a rack on my car for about 6 weeks now and I really think it looks pretty good and I do think it makes cops look less in my direction.

I guess i will go check it out today, kind of want more performance than a 4 cylinder accord. :p

That being said, i wonder about the wisdom of getting more and more power since gas isn't getting any cheaper. If in 5 years gas costs an arm, leg and testicle, the car will be completely worthless. :\

Hmmm! Interesting!

IIRC, the 2.5GT as a H4 Turbo gets better MPG than the V6s from Honda/Acura and Nissan/Infiniti.

You should check it out but don't blame me once you realize it blows away your Accord:p
