Pressure on my bladder...

I'm heading to the doc tomorrow after work to get checked out, but I am curious if any of you have had these same symptoms (guys)? I felt pressure in my groin area about 5 days ago. It never hurt, just felt awkward. It seems to have moved up to my bladder area now. When I urinate it doesn't burn, but I feel major relief... moreso than I used to. I also seem to have a little more stage fright than I did before I got whatever it is I have. Takes about 5-10 seconds to concentrate before I can go. I had a UTI back in college and it burned every time I urinated... and led to puss/leakage. Got it knocked out in a couple days w/ antibiotics after the Rx was prescribed. The symptoms I have now are similar, but with no pain at all. Just feeling uncomfortable and having the urge to go when I really don't have to.

What's the AT diagnosis? I'm married and have had sex w/ the same woman for 8 years (we're both tested, so I doubt it's an STD)

I thought about kidney stones too... but I've read that they're much more painful than anything I have. Literally no pain at all here... just discomfort and the urge to pee.

possible UTI?

Has the wifey had one recently? Was it her time of the month a few days prior to the onset?

No, she hasn't had one recently... but she used to get them about once every 6 months a couple years back.

And we tend to 69 now more than ever... actual sex only once a week or so.

UTI was my guess. Does it feel like you always have to go, even after you just went?

After I go, within about 30-45 minutes I feel like I need to go lightly again. It's not intense... but enough to make me think about it throughout the day.

Prepare for a finger in your ass.

And i'm talking 3rd knuckle.

I don't want the 3rd knuckle! But if it prevents me from dying... then so be it.

I prefer a urine analysis to be honest and a cheap Rx.

Sounds like an enlarged prostate.

Prepare for a finger in your ass.

And I mean DEEP.

Guess I should go ahead and shave it then.

Don't do that! Then the doc will think you're in the closet, and might use a different appendage to check your prostate...

Woke up this morning and I no longer have that 'urge' to go. Now it just feels like a mild tenderness in my groin area... but I'd much rather have this feeling than the other!

Headed to the doc at 3:30 and will post his diagnosis. As much as I hate lazy docs, I'm kind of hoping he just prescripes those antibiotics and sends me on my way w/out the full checkup.

Turns out.......... I'm pregggggggggo!

I keed. Anyway, the Doc was on vacation (just my luck) so a PA checked me out. Ran all the normal checkups, a urinalysis that came back clean. I had to let my sun shine so he could squeeze on it and do the ball-cough routine, but luckily no fingers in the butt. Nothing abnormal he said..). He basically prescribed me antibiotics (ciprofloxacin) for 10 days and said if the swelling of my groin doesn't go down and the tenderness doesn't fade to let him know. My followup visit of course would be with a urologist. Hopefully I won't have to go that far.

Great. Another doc in the making who just throws antibiotics at anything and everything.

Why the antibiotics if there's no infection?

That's exactly what I thought! Funny thing is... while I was in the checkup room the PA got on his computer and ran down a checklist very similar to WebMD to diagnose my problem... lol. Guess this is something they do now.

I can't really blame him though. I did about 4 hours of research and nothing really stood out from the changing symptoms that I've had.

He came to the conclusion it was Acute bacterial prostatitis. But no bacteria found in my urine? The antibiotic was prescribed just to reduce the inflammation and clear out anything that may cause the problem. Seems to be the common Rx doesn't it?

I'm just happy that my symptoms are about 90% gone now... I feel so much better. But hell, I did even before I went in yesterday. Just felt a little like I was walking w/ a golf ball in between my legs.

I had almost the exact same problems 5 months ago. Would go frequently but it would take some time to get going and very little would come up. Felt this pressure on my waist line/bladder area.

Doc prescribed an antibiotic and samples of Flomax. Skipped the Flomax.

I'd say today I'm 98% better. There are still some days I need to go a bit more than normal but nothing like the 13 trip pee marathon I once had.
