I'm sorry that I triggered a poor little puppy.

I'm sorry we let you parents into this country. Trump should have been around back then... Should I tell New River Systems how much of your day is spent here instead of working? Do your fucking job or run back to India you imported piece of shit... No one wants you here...

This race-based personal attack is WAY over the line.

Well that can't happen because Presidents have no real power or so I've heard tell, eh?

I agree that presidents have little power overall when it comes to the price of gas but their policies can still influence it on a small scale. I would imagine any effects from this pipeline on Midwestern gas prices would be swamped by other factors though, yes.

I would bet they do, the infrastructure is fairly cheap and even if it isn't needed right now it will be in the future. Get it done now while it can be done and have it for the future.

I'm sure that will be a topic of much debate in their executive suites and boardroom. Usually you don't spend a few billion dollars unless you have either an immediate need or a reasonable economic case for future need. Otherwise you could more effectively invest that money elsewhere. Given that oil prices are well below the level that justifies expansion or new tar sands development and not forecast to rise to that level anytime soon a decision to proceed could amount to sheer speculation.

The future where we are all exploring the stars and the American conservative is nothing more than a funny footnote in our history books? Yeah I bet all our spaceships will run on unleaded and have oil-fired furnaces.

My point was really directed at what we've heard from others. President's can't directly manipulate prices but running a pipeline through full speed ahead? Yep, and that is a definition of power to me.

I have my eye on a horse and buggy. I figure if some insist on pushing a valuable manufacturing resource to be burned up, I can be behind the times too. Besides horses produce less shit than politicians who back this pipeline.

They are trying to lease out the lot, n I dunno, prob sell off the pipe dirt cheap one day

Depending on where you live this pipeline could cause your gas prices to increase, not decrease.
i'm in one of the cheapest gas areas in the country and filled up last night for $1.93. the horrors of $1.99 gas!

If you're actually concerned about the environment you would be a fool to be protesting any kind of pipeline. As someone that is involved in oil and gas, you would otherwise be transporting by truck, rail, or vessel. What do you think generates CO2?

Wait wut?

Our current situation is in place entirely because our former president turned a blind eye to shale drilling. What are you smoking?

Oh come on. Just because it doesn't relate to magically changing the price doesn't mean they don't have a direct affect.

A president can dictate whether a pipeline is built or if shale drilling is allowed. That KIND of makes a difference in the overall price of oil competition ya think?

Ask Oklahoma how their earthquakes are doing. For fuck sake I'm a conservative and you're arguing against me as far as if a political position has an affect on oil prices or not.

What a gas!
March for freedom's pipeline
March each and every day

Made up my mind and I won't turn around
Made up my mind and I won't turn around

There is just one thing
I can't understand my friend.
Why folks think the pipeline
Was not designed for all men.

Yes I think I voted for the right man
Said we would overcome.

Wonder how much it has cost them already. May have paid for the upgrade to process tarsand at home with the delays and lawyer costs.

Yes, I'm actually concerned about the environment:

Oil sands found to be a leading source of air pollution in North America

"A cloud of noxious particles brewing in the air above the Alberta oil sands is one of the most prolific sources of air pollution in North America, often exceeding the total emissions from Canada’s largest city, federal scientists have discovered.

The finding marks the first time researchers have quantified the role of oil sands operations in generating secondary organic aerosols, a poorly understood class of pollutants that have been linked to a range of adverse health effects."

The oil industry isn't a free for all. Those who have control limit production to keep price up. Why would companies spend billions to drop prices and profit per dollar? They won't add to the current relative glut by investing in new infrastructure. Maximum return on investment does not mean producing every drop of oil that can be had.

I dunno, oil is a global commodity and on a global scale the oil you are talking about is a drop in the bucket. If we had a supply issue you could have a point but we currently and foreseeably do not.

I doubt it, a ton of money has already been spent on it and infrastructure like this is a long term investment. Seeing as how they very likely only have a short window if they ever want it built, specifically Trump's presidency, I would be incredibly surprised if they decide not to build it.
