If you think so. Just the mere mention of his name in my workplace brings "fuck that fucker" very quickly. You have no idea how much he is hated, it's not just me. See you in November. teabagtag.

What has he done to receive your hatred? The only things he has pushed through have been watered down by both Democrats and Republicans and in no way come close to what he offered to his voters. You should be happy to have him in office because he is doing absolutely nothing to push the liberal agenda and is wasting a huge "will of the voters" supermajority.

Basically that fucker is targeting my way of life and wants to tax the fuck out of me and my wife. Fuck Obama.

He is actively attacking the very American way of life. FBHO.

Federal tax receipts as a percentage of GDP are the lowest they have been since WWII. Under 15%.

Lower than Reagan, Bush I or II.

Did you read what hendrix wrote just above me?

Unless you work for the health care industry than things arent that bad for you or me. FYI I pay alot of taxes since I do lots of contract work. Would I rather pay less taxes and watch the country crumble around me or would I rather have a place worthy of my children's future?

Were you this crazy during the bush years or have you recently changed your meds?

spidey was the forum's first documented case of Obama Derangement Syndrome.

spidey apparently doesn't understand marginal tax rates or adjusted gross income; he seems to think that if he and his wife have a combined gross income >$250K that under President Obama's program they will have to pay 95% of everything to the government.

Completely disagree. Bubble economy and bad foreign policy. He's not significantly different from the two nuts who followed. The only exception (and it's a big one, I admit) being he didn't run up huge deficits.
Agreed.

He criminalized copyright violations, he supported gun control, he was a foreign interventionist, he ramped up the War on Drugs, he certainly supported the use of very unnecessary force at home, and he raised taxes and froze overall spending rather than reduce spending and keep taxes the same.

During his time in office it would've been a good time to repeal Medicare, and it would've been politically feasible for himself and his opponents.

I can agree that Clinton fucked up with NAFTA. Reagan dreamed it up, Bush I pushed it into being signed and Clinton signed it after it went through Congress. That is the biggest fault of the man in office (that I can remember).

Maybe I'm blinded by the temporary good times economy that we had then. Life financially, was fantastic when he was in office for the most part (Yes, I know it was on the back of a bubble). Thanks Zebo for raining on my parade! :(

clinton really pushed most favored nation status with china, and made it permanent in 2000.

As the numbers show, growth was robust and extended to all class levels. Whatever innovation there was (there is always innovation, kind of a red herring) in no way guarantees that everyone will see the benefits of it. You could easily have said the jobs disappeared as computers replaced them, but that did not happen. The strength of the economy during the Clinton years was that it permeated all classes. Any advancements we have seen in the last decade go straight to lining the pockets of those at the top and cutting jobs of those at the bottom.

Of course, I could just as easily point out that there would be no internet if not for Al Gore pushing the legislation through to open it up to commercial interests; and therefore likely no boom in the computer industry.

I don't understand what you mean.

The numbers don't back up what you're saying that jobs were replaced.

Nor does "whether or not people saw the benefits of it" matter-- all I'm arguing is that the increase in productivity and a new sector of jobs opened up (InfoTech), and that as a result the government revenues grew by leaps and bounds, balancing Clintons budget.
