Maybe Kansas's coach decided to vote for Kansas as #25?

Yeah, maybe....however there are some coaches that vote for a school at #25 preseason simple to thank them for starting their careers. Look at Duke's lone vote. That's from Steve Spurrier as a thank you card when he coached at Duke.

All the more reason that preseason rankings should be banned. So little of it is based on real perceptions of what might happen. Too much is based on self-promoting, frienships, or even promoting your opponent so when you beat them you look better or if you lose to them you aren't harmed much.

I personally would ban voting at least until the 4th week of the season - if not later.

I doubt a no. 25 vote here and there will affect the outcome. And coaches know that they have to vote without any conflicts of interests. Any obviously inaccurate voting will not be tolerated. I think that preseason voting should be eliminated for the simple reason that teams at the top will likely stay at the top. If the top three teams in the preseason all go undefeated, the top two will likely make the National Championship game. However, people like some kind of official rankings early on, to see where their team stands.

nope, I def saw that game (UM v Texas).

young tore them an even bigger hole than ginn did.
score was way closer than the game was - he tore them up.

hopefully he won't put on that kind of show 9.10 in the shoe

<fingers crossed>

Actually I was at the game and I remember Michigan up by 10 in the 4th quarter. Anyone who says this game was a slughter or domination is smoking something. Neither defense could stop the other team, and as I expected it came down to who had the ball last.

Worst part was, I could see from where I was that the last second FG kick was on course to go wide - it was actually deflected into the uprights.

Nope, right where they should be. Go Bucks!

Its a shock to look at your profile and see your from Columbus.

There is no way OSU is a top 5, possibly even top 10 team right now.

Oh well, I'll just let it be... We'll be seeing you in Columbus on Sept. 24, and Drew Tate will rip your defense apart...

Agreed, I'm salivating over that one. i'm thinking of heading down to Cbus to do some tailgating that weekend, but with the price of gas.... might not be worth it.

No, Michigan is ranked too high. Ohio State routed them, Texas slaughtered them, and they're top 5?
Its like a tradition, Michigan is ALWAYS overrated. The last time they actually finished higher than thier preseason rank was in 97 when they went undefeated.
