Unless your using Phase change or Liquid cooling there is no reason to go w/ Prescott

Why everyone keep saying you need super cooling to OC P4e?
I have $10 80mm (2500rpm only) Maddog HSF from microcenter and it does the job perfectly and also very very quiet.
I have P4 2.8E currently @ 3.5Ghz @ 250Mhz FSB @ 47C idle/ 65C full load on Abit IC7
Sure it is bit hotter compare to Northy, but not that bad.

Timekeeper, how did you read the temp? From the mobo sensor? Why am I reading 58 idle and 73 load from 3.0E w/o OC? And I'm not even sure if 73C is the max reading.

If you are serious about buying a Prescott.
Wait until end of June, Intel will be releasing new chipsets and LGA775 Prescotts.
That way you have more upgrade options. IMO with the new Grantsdale chipset, the Prescott will outperform the Northies.
