Either Brigham's, or a local place called Mac's Dairy Farm.

I've always noticed that Haagen Daas is hard as a rock, and tends to bend spoons trying to scoop some out.

it just takes a couple minutes to soften up 🙂

I voted Indie SOB just because I like to feel elite. It makes my life feel like less of a joke.

But I would side with your friend in that HD is acknowledged as the better ice cream, probably due to the fact that people feel since they paid $5 for 2 bars it better be good.

Depends on the flavor. Some flavors I like B&J's. Some I like Haagen Daaaaaaazzzz. I like Breyer's mint chocolate chip. For some flavors I like the snooty local stuff you losers never heard of. 😉

But here's the thing: it's ice cream. And that means it's freakin' awesomely delicious. I don't care what brand. Ice cream is good.

idk, HD's always tasted creamier to me.

of course, I don't really care enough about ice cream to go to an ice cream store or make my own, so I limit my options to what's in the freezer in the grocery store.

I'd reply, but your unfathomable love of the marketing hype that's Ben & Jerry's sole claim to fame would render you incapable of understanding the answer. There are hundreds of better ice creams than that hippie crap, here's hoping to you growing up enough to someday figure that out for yourself.

I'd refute your entire post without even trying, but your confused and inane dislike of everything that is good and pure in this world would just keep you from understanding the words. Maybe one day you'll realize that you'd be happier if you quit reacting against anything with a catchy slogan or pleasant packaging and judged ice cream based on its deliciousness.

I'd like to be there when your IQ raises high enough for you to finally have that "D'OH!!" moment and comprehension dawns on you that you will NEVER find good ice cream in a supermarket. Given how deeply you're in denial and how fanatically you've swallowed the marketing hype that doesn't seem likely to happen in this life time. But there is one indisputable truth to mass market consumerism: The same people who buy ice cream from a supermarket buy pizza from Dominoes, Mexican food from Taco Bell and deli sandwiches from Subway. They just don't know any better.

I would agree with that. And I think that on comparable flavors HD tastes better than B&J, but I have it so rarely due to its cost.

Edit: That goes for both. I have them both rarely due to cost.

Of course it tastes creamier, it IS creamier. HD has a higher butterfat content than B&J. In fact Edy's and many others do too, at half the price of B&J.

Buttonwood Farms (local farm that makes ice cream) is my favorite ice cream shop.

I occasionally buy a pint of Ben & Jerry's because it fits in the hotel fridge freezer almost perfectly.

Why are you being such a douchebag?

Yeah, Ben and Jerry's. Definitely.

There's a local convenience store that sells some good premium stuff too. I'm fairly sure it's Blue Bunny.

Perry's Ice Cream is some of the best ice cream I've ever had. I miss it. It's throughout alot of New York State and way better than Haggen Daz. I think Ben and Jerrys is on par with Perry's

I rarely eat ice cream. When I do it is because someone offers me some so that means my favorite ice cream is other people's.

LOL, you feeble minded twerp, Blue Bunny is nowhere even close to being a premium ice cream.

It's not even the best amongst the mass market, non-premium brands. Bryer's still wins that hands down.

Sweet Jesus, Pabby, you're tasteless, clueless, and terminally dumb.

He hates those pills, too. And the Jews. He's exceptionally intolerant. 😛 😉

I said it was made by Blue Bunny, it isn't actual Blue Bunny labeled. Reading comprehension?

Well personally, I find Breyers' not all that great. Certainly not worth the premium.

Stick it where the sun don't shine 😉

My dad lived near Ben & Jerry's during the 70's and he used to pass by their shop all the time. Also I grew up in close proximity to the factory, I have had a lot of good experiences with Ben & Jerry's as a company and as an ice cream. Personally I like them better mainly because they have a more homemade feel, while the Häagen Daz seems like a generic brand. It also helps that they have my favorite flavor: Half Baked. 😛

Hate to break it to ya, but Ben & Jerry's is now owned by a massive food conglomerate that also makes Breyer's and Good Humor.

They didn't mess with the recipe as far as I know, though.

I did not realize Blue Bell ice cream was regional, i guess i've been taking it for granted all this time.

You know those commercials where they show everyone else having to get blue bell airlifted in.
Yeah, its true. 🙁
