Just noticed monarch has oem x2 3800+ in their combo section for $369! Says ETA of 8/10 as well.
If they're at that level by the time I build a new system, I'll be on them like a fat chick on cupcakesOriginally posted by: Capt Caveman

Yeah and the X2 4400+ has a MSRP of $585, a month later, places are still price gouging. Maybe a couple of months now, you'll see them for $345.

I doubt it's Newegg, or Monarch that's gouging anybody, it's just that the demand for the X2 4400+'s are so high that the distributers are charging more for these chips, so buy the time Newegg/Monarch/ZZF get a hold of them they've been marked up tremendously. Sure Newegg/Monarch/ZZF are taking thier markup, but i doubt that that percentage is any higher, than what they normaly charge. As everyone here knows once demand levles off the prices will follow... If I can just be patient...

Nope, distributor costs are fixed. For example, the distro cost on the 3800+ is about $350. The distributor cost for the 4400+ is about $580. The markups you see are definitely not comming from increased distributor pricing, that's all being added by retailers.
