Powerlifting competition for youth?

As a few of you might know from previous postings of mine, I have been working on lifting with my now 7 year old for a while. He asked me the other day about why we were lifting and while we were discussing, I mentioned that some people compete in tournaments to see who can lift the most. He asked if he could participate in one...

I am not sure what I think of this idea, since we really don't do any sets less than 8, so he is not "trained" for 1RM's, plus I have not even been able to FIND a tournament for kids his age...

A quick search of this "internet" thing 🙂P) doesn't yield any results for kids that young. Do such tournaments even exist? Anyone have any info/experience with this?
 
It's doubtful, the youngest I've seen is teen divisions. Even if you could find some it's not very likely that there would be anyone to compete against.
