A 30% "buffer"? Ridiculous.

A quality 750W should run 6970 CrossFire (including unlocked 6950) easily.

30% isn't that ridiculous IMO. I'd think you'd at least want 20% but that's just me. A 750W PSU would be running very close to maximum output if you overclocked your video cards or had more system components than my rather bare bones build. I personally wouldn't feel comfortable running at 90-95% of a PSU's rated power.

Ah this thread is still going. I purchased the Corsair 850. It powers my dual unlocked 6950s wonderfully.
