Just a word to the wise, the mods have no problem banning people who dislike religion/prayer/etc. so if you have something to say i would tone it down. I got banned for a week because i said i don't like creed in a christian music thread.

First off, I am happy for you. Nothing can take that away from you.

There are other things I would like to say, however, which would probably get me in trouble. Therefore, I will not say them.

Yes.... There's too much heartbreak and sorrow in this world for me to be a bible thumping believer... Not to misquote someone but "If God does exist then he must hate us"... I'm more agnostic nowadays though..I think that there's a remote possibility that a greater lifeform is out there, whether it be the rules of science that hold our universe together or a guy with a white beard sitting on a cloud... But I'm not naive enough to believe that this unknown force has my best interests in mind...

Ditto....I had my crisis of faith along time ago, and have resided to the idea that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions, and good for them for having the balls to do it, but I choose to remain indifferent for now....well, until my sister gets better, I win the Lottery, marry the girl of my dreams and live happily ever after.

"I guess God was too busy that day.. "

WRONG. HE just said no. God always answers prayers. Maybe not the answer you want, but it's an answer.

And you know this how?? Or is that just a loophole that you've been brainwashed to believe?

APOLOGY: NOT DUE TO A FEAR OF GETTING BANNED..

I need to apologize for turning this thread about one person's good fortune into an anti-religion rant... Congratulations on your good health - I wish everyone well and will move on.. I stand by my opinion but didn't mean to be a flaming idiot...

So I've had Bells Palsy for five months now. For those who don't know what it is click here.. I got it fairly bad. The full onset lasted about a month. After that I started to get better quickly. I would say that I got 85% better within a two week period. Of course I was very happy. But my eye still didn't blink all the way, and some of my facial muscles didn't work all the way. But I was happy enough. They say that if it lasts for more than three months you will probably have the symptoms that you have forever. The symptoms that I still had was an eye that would run constantly because it couldn't close all the way, and my face would hurt. So I pretty much accepted that my eye would water forever and my face would hurt....hey it was still better than having it full on.

So fast forward to about a week ago. I was at work and my tongue started tingling. This is what happened when it first came on. I was kind of upset and thought it might be coming back. But I wanted to make sure so I just let it be and didn't go to the doctor. By the evening it had gone away. Then I noticed my eye was starting to blink a little more in the following days. Now it seems that things are getting better. My eye doesn't water nearly as much. Almost not at all. My face doesn't hurt any more. And it seems to be getting better every day. I just figured I was lucky.

So today my mom calls me and says that she was thinking of me last week and that she put a request at her church for everyone to pray for me because I was sick. It was right around the time that I started feeling better. Actually exactly the time that I started feeling better. I AM a religious person. I go to church every Sunday, I pray every night, I believe in the power of God. I'm not putting anyone down who doesn't, nor am I trying to shove my religion down anyone's throat. I'm just giving my experience.

Belief can be a powerful force. I, for one, am glad it's helping you overcome your situation, and I wish you the best. :)

PS - The imaginary floating sadist in the sky you worship who gave you the ailment in the first place to had nothing to do with it going away. Bell's Palsy frequently resolves on it's own. The only effect all those suckers praying has was to increase the earth's CO2 level and increase the church's coffers.
