Holy shit! 3 feet of snow in a day??? We would go absolutely nuts if we got 3 inches of snow in a day. The entire area would be shut down and the roads littered with wrecks.

This would be a good snow even in my Colorado days. Take precautions, keep your eyes open and don't go out in it except for emergencies.

A few years ago parts of northern NY had 11' over a few days. No, that was not a typo.

The latest NAM model run absolutely puts the hammer down on the whole greater NYC area.. if this actually happens, they'll get way more snow than currently forecast.

Like... epic snow totals.

It's just one run. But someone is probably going to get nailed...

I can't wait for the snow. I love driving around in it. WRX + snow tires = lol what snow? Hopefully our datacenter explodes and I can put skis on my car and drive to fix it.

With around 6 inches of ground clearance your wrx isn't going very far if there is 3 foot of snow.

I'm disappointed in my fellow Nutmeggers. Last night the highways were absolutely jammed, and every gas station had lines no matter what the price. I'm sure there isn't a loaf of bread or gallon of milk left on the store shelves anywhere.

Blizzards are meant to be enjoyed, not be terrified about.

The NAM model has been indicating much higher snowfalls than most of the meteorologists think will come down AND the other models tend to agree in less. The NAM's snow total is more wishful than anything at this point. edit (though it was one of the best at forecasting the track of the storm.)

Hopefully the snow plows are working this time for you people in NYC. I know a couple of years ago the unions tried to send a message by not sending out the plows in a timely manner.

I got gas Wednesday night. Thankfully, I didn't wait til last night.

Here in WI we had 5-7" of snow yesterday and the local news was hyping it up so much it was sickening. I think we're becoming too wimpy about snow here in WI, to be honest.

Shit gets real around the great lakes!

Yup, areas immediately east and southeast of the Great Lakes almost always get more snow than areas immediately west and north of them.

Michigan gets a lot more snow, usually, than we do in WI. What we get more of, usually, is bitter cold temps.

Go to the upper peninsula (Michigan). I had a friend that lived up there, they had a seperate door on the second floor for winter. Also, the street signs (such as they were, we are talking sparse population) were double deckered as well. Fortunately I lived in the Milwaukee area where lake effect snow never accumulated.

It may be because that up until this week; there were 3 storms that came through in the MKE itself; each were 2-4 inches at the most.
