The models aren't in total agreement about exactly where the system is going to go, but it's likely that some areas will be looking at 24-36" of snow.

I wish the best for the people involved. I hope people are prepared with food and water, heat with alternate sources in case something goes wrong. Watch the snow/ice loads on roofs and don't be out on the roads or highways is you have any other options, let people know where you are.

Meh, we are prepared for snow up in Vermont, just another winter. If it was spring or fall and it was warmer so the snow would be wet and heavy it would be more of an issue. South of us, they need to be more worried.

FYI if you are flying into Logan, we just had a meeting and they said they can only sustain clearing of runways at 2" an hour or less, if it is more then that expect flight diversions, so plan accordingly unless you care to see Burlington VT.

Yeah I think Mass and NY are the states that need to worry about this one. No high winds or crazy cold temps, yet.

Good luck all, hope the power stays on!

Supposed to hit here tonight. What's worrisome is the forcast temps behind the system show it warming to above freezing. Could be some significant flooding if it plays out as they say.

Hitting on weekend - easy on road crews

3' is nothing compared to when they had to close airport in '77/78

This is going to suck. So much snow in such a short time will make it hard to find places for all of the snow. And the expected high winds with wet heavy snow, could force a lot of folks to lose power.

So, not in the mood to shovel snow. Plus, I was planning on doing my long run on Sunday. Zero desire to run on a treadmill.

I can't wait for the snow. I love driving around in it. WRX + snow tires = lol what snow? Hopefully our datacenter explodes and I can put skis on my car and drive to fix it.

Not very likely. It's very cold behind the storm, then there's a brief warmup next week, but not that warm, and no big rainstorms or anything on the horizon.

Bring it on winter. Just look at it as a good practice for what to expect when even shittier storms occur.

That is a lot of snow even by MN standards. Hunker down, stay warm, and find easy entertainment if you lose power.

Heh, I lived in NH on the river across from VT, then moved to central VT. Everyone had a shovel and blanket at a minimum. I kept some of those fake fireplace logs cut up into a couple or four pieces and a lighter. Never had a worry.

Hopefully the insurance companies get indemnified by the government for any damage this causes.

I doubt if the Righties would approve any funds without offsetting cuts to Medicare/S.S.

Well here they are forecasting temps to get above 40 in a couple days after this passes this way. Hopefully it's a slower warm up that way.
