I remember seeing a show about this on the Food Network. Potato chips was simply a bar food snack until after WW-2.

I like both, and prefer each for different situations.

Soup & chips = regular.

Sub or Sandwich & chips = Kettle.

I like this answer. the cost of kettle chips generally steers me towards classic/plain Lays. something like that.

Haven't seen zapp's in the store.

Actually, there's a chip I can recommend pretty highly.

Trader Joe's sells a 'hawaaian' chip that's sort of kettle, 'sweet and tangy bbq'.

It has an intense bbq, a great flavor, but is a bit spicier than I like - but not too bad.

...title says: "Potato Chip Poll"

Doesn't Frito-Lay have a new GMO hybrid potato-corn chip about to be introduced? lol

Interesting, apparently there are kettle baked Doritos-type tortilla chips on the market.

Those are pretty good, but a Dorito still tastes better. I love the Kettle brand potato chips, but the tortilla chips don't quite make the cut.
