Processor: 7.2
Memory (RAM): 7.2
Graphics: 6.8
Gaming graphics: 6.8
Primary hard disk: 5.9

I'm running two 500GB Samsung drives in RAID0... And am still getting 5.9. Strange.

Ohh well, everything is running perfectly fine so no biggie :)

The problem is that it was an upgrade. Upgrades take longer, b/c its got to go through and inspect and swap files out, and update the registery from one to the other, etc.

New installs are MUCH faster.

It took me less than 20 minutes from a 16x DVD rom.

But then when you factor in reinstalling all of your apps, etc from your old install you're probably back up to that 2-3 hour mark again. So you have a similar amount of time either way. Though I'd rather do a clean install, and know everything is "pristine" then only reinstall the stuff I actually use, often as a I need it.

Win7 64bit...

So you have a HD4870x3 and get a lower score for the Graphics parts? Your cards are at worst equal to my single card (if the thing doesn't scale at all) Strange...

Dell Precision 390
Intel Core 2 6300 1.86GHz
2GB RAM
40GB partition running Win7 RC 32bit
NVIDIA Quadro NVS 285

Love it! No complaints at all. Found all drivers upon install. Runs just as fast as XP pro SP3 on same machine.

SLI does nothing for aero desktop performance which a pair of 295's score 6.5. 10 15K SAS in RAID0 on ARC1680ix-24 w/2GB cache get 7.0 for disk. :D i7 at 4GHz gets close the (max of) 7.9 at 7.7.

I don't like this performance grade and I wish there was a way to remove it. Server 2008 omits it. I wonder if Windows 7 based server will be Server 2010?

Last I looked Windows Server 7 is aka Windows 2008 R2, its going to be a half step upgrade.

I'm kinda looking forward to it because all of my desktops use 2008, but I'm curious if it will have all the desktop stuff that 7 has(dx11 etc), as they're supposedly diverging releases now.

Not sure what you mean by diverging releases, 2008 R2 is W7 Server...

Their graphics and Hard Drive scoring needs work IMO.

Also I notice that chips with integrated memory controllers do great on the Memory part.

Pretty much in line with my scores - a bit faster CPU, a bit faster GPU, similar HDD configuration - two standard 7200 HDDs in RAID0 - and the score is +0.1-0.2 higher. No idea why the CrossFire rigs get so much lower scores even though they are faster in everything... Reran the test, still 6.8 for my GPU.

That's interesting. Somebody else reported they got a "this reporting doesn't work in a virtualized system". Must depend on which virtualization system you are running.

Hmm perhaps. I should try it in VMware. Maybe it only does it in virtual PC as it's a MS product so they probably have a check in there. Don't see why they'd disable it though.

6.1 CPU (C2D E6400 @ 2.9 ghz)
6.4 Memory (Corsair XMS2 4GB)
6.7 Aero (Radeon 4890)
6.7 Gaming
4.7 Primary HDD (74gb Raptor - seems a bit low?!)

Do hard drives slow down with age? Cause that drive is about 5 years old now...

64-bit, build 7100.

5.9 on the Video Editing Box in my sig (not running W2K3 anymore...at least temporarily).

CPU and RAM are 7.6 , everything else is 5.9. I'm running RAID1 on the OS drive...that may have something to do with it...maybe not. 5.9 is probably just the normal score for a 7200rpm SATA drive.

I'm curious what CPU sgrinavi is running...he scored higher than I did and I have 8 CPUs (dual quad-cores).

Well I just tested my new Sager NP5797 laptop and I now feel very good about the performance.

CPU - 6.9
Memory - 6.9
Graphics - 5.9
Gaming Graphics - 5.9
Hard Drive - 5.7

5.7 Overall. That is very good looking at a lot of the desktop scores. I'm happy with it!

Specs - Sager NP5797. Q9000 (2ghz Quad), 4GB DDR3, Geforce 280M GTX, 17" (1920x1200) LCD, 250GB 7200 HD.
