Stock MOPAR (Infinity?) 6 speaker AM/FM/CD setup. I cannot blow out my neighbors windows with it, but it still plays the tunes that I listen to.

This is what I had in my car until I sold it, now it's all just collecting dust in my room for the time being :(

Head Unit: Awia CDC-MP3 (was suppose to be a Nakamichi CD45Z but the order got screwed up)
Front Stage Component Set: DEI Studio 3065 Neodymium
Front Stage Component Amp: Memphis Competition CA-150
Sub: 1 Single 12" Eclipse 88120.4 Aluminum in a 1.0 CU FT sealed box (Use to have 2 15" MTX 5000's, but got rid of em for the eclipse)
Sub Amp: Memphis Studio ST-500D
Wireing: Stinger RCA's, Rockford Power/Speaker, and Lightning Audio accessories

I also use to have a set of Aura Pro Bass Shakers under each seat, but I blew em shortly after I installed them.

one 8 gauge
one 4 gauge

cheap RCAs, but no noise

Letsee, I spend $600 for everything and did my first major install myself over a weekend about 6 months ago. It WAS fun taking the interior of my car apart to put the sub and amp in the trunk (Kia Rio 2002 - paid $5988 BRAND New).

Head Unit - Pioneer DEH2300 (CD, used as a preamp only)
Alpine 200w amp (50/50/100)
Polk Audio EX separates (6-1/2 mids/tweeters)
Polk Audio EX10 Sub

Rear factory speakers are disconnected as the Polks "image" superbly.

<< I pity Mr.Baseball's 1200.1 amp; I bet its starving for current :( >>

yeah, I think it could use some more current. Im probably going to buy an optima gel battery to see if it helps. Ive heard that a cap is just a band-aid for the problem and won't do much. I wish I could afford a custom alternator :D

Hmm, some decent systems going on here. Anybody have a real installation though? I.E. with trimpanels and all wires properly terminated? I'll be posting pics up on the BZZZDD (or whatever it's called..I've got it bookmarked.) You know, the "Skoorb Approved Site?" OSully's I believe. Anyway, my equipment is decent and the install was all done 100% by me and me alone.

Vehicle: 2001 Isuzu Trooper 4WD

Deck: Kenwood 9007
Changer: Kenwood 12-disc

EQ/Crossover: AudioControl EQX
Crossover #2 (for rears) Coustic XM-3

Amp 1: Kenwood 933 (4-channel bridged to 2-channel, 130W x 2 RMS per channel for front components)
Amp 2: Kenwood PS-300T (300W RMS @ 4-ohms for sub)
Amp 3: Kenwood 744 (old 4-channel, only using 2 channels for rear fill 40W x 2 RMS)

Fronts: Infinity Reference 6.5 CS 2-way components
Rears: Kenwood 4.5-inch coaxes for rear fill
Sub: JL Audio 12W3-D2 in 1.25cf (net) sealed box.

Wire/Interconnects/Fuses/Other: Lightning Audio 120-amp circuit breaker under hood, 4-gauge power and grounds/8-gauge on amps. RockfordFosgate 4-position AGU fuse holder. Lightning Audio 1-Farad Cap connected to fuse block with 3-inch piece of 4-gauge. Standard 12V relay to tie all the turn-on leads to the HU. One set of RockfordFosgate Gamma Series RCAs to connect HU to EQX. Don't use HU fader; I adjust front/rear balance at the crossover. Other RCAs are Monster Cable 4-foot shielded w/gold ends.

Total Power: 640W RMS

Amp rack/trimpanels made out of 3/4" and 1/4" MDF covered in factory-matching gray vinyl. Amprack has 1/8" Plexi windows for amps/crossover/eq.

I won't lie; the install was a complete bitch. Isuzu does not want you to mount A DAMN thing that isn't stock in the Trooper. There are no grommetted holes in the firewall (like on my Accord) I had to drill a new hole (scary!) to run the 4-gauge.

Removing the stock HU requires removing the middle of the dashboard as well as the entire console that fits around the gear shifter.

Front doors take 6.5's but max depth is a measly 2-inches. Hardly anybody makes decent components speakers that are 2-inches deep. :( Spacer rings are not an option due to the factory grill butting right up against the speaker flange. Had to Dremel-out about 1/8 inch of plastic from the back of the factory grills just to fit the skinny Infinity's in there.

Rears take 4.5" speakers, but it's solid metal back there. Running wires from the speakers to the amp was a PITA.

But the install is solid and sounds fantastic. I really want to compete in the Amateur IASCA category, but I honestly don't have the time right now.

That's it, I think. :)

*EDIT* Wanted to add that all wires are terminated with crimp-on spade connectors and covered in heatshrink tubing. All tubing is yellow and cut to same size. Uniformity looks pretty. :)

I put systems in both my parents cars...cause im too poor to afford my own car.

1991 Civic:
Head: pioneer 40X4watt old school cd deck ( 5 years old)
Speakers: Old school Pioneer 5"1/4 fron and 6"1/2 in back
Amp: Rockford fosgate Punch 200 ( i think)
Sub: 12" Rockford fosgate Punch XL

1992 Corsica:
Head: Pioneer 50X4watt really good deck ( paid $300 for it)
Speakers : Pioneer 3 way 4"X9" in front and Pioneer 4-way 6X9s in back

No sub yet because one of the cars will die soon...so both the cars system will mash together into the new car.

<< come on... where are the pics??? :D >>

If I took pics of mine you wouldn't be able to see anything.

I worked hard to make sure that none of the equipment, except the head unit of course, is visible.

VW Passat GLS 1.8t

Headunit - Alpine 7834 CD receiver
Amp for mids & highs - PPI Sedona 425 4 x 25w (but running into 2 ohms each so 4x50w)
Amp for subs - PPI A600 2x150w (but running into 2 ohm each so 2x300w)
Mids & highs speakers - Kicker components in all eight factory spots
Subs -4 Kicker C-10a's clamshelled in a 5 cu ft box split to 2 sealed chambers
Crossover -MTX 2-way (cheap, but active and works cleanly)

In desparate need for a big cap though, since over the winter I was dimming my lights from the A600 suckin' tons of juice.
