Hmm, some decent systems going on here. Anybody have a real
installation though? I.E. with trimpanels and all wires properly terminated? I'll be posting pics up on the BZZZDD (or whatever it's called..I've got it bookmarked.) You know, the "Skoorb Approved Site?" OSully's I believe. Anyway, my equipment is decent and the install was all done 100% by me and me alone.
Vehicle: 2001 Isuzu Trooper 4WD
Deck: Kenwood 9007
Changer: Kenwood 12-disc
EQ/Crossover: AudioControl EQX
Crossover #2 (for rears) Coustic XM-3
Amp 1: Kenwood 933 (4-channel bridged to 2-channel, 130W x 2 RMS per channel for front components)
Amp 2: Kenwood PS-300T (300W RMS @ 4-ohms for sub)
Amp 3: Kenwood 744 (old 4-channel, only using 2 channels for rear fill 40W x 2 RMS)
Fronts: Infinity Reference 6.5 CS 2-way components
Rears: Kenwood 4.5-inch coaxes for rear fill
Sub: JL Audio 12W3-D2 in 1.25cf (net) sealed box.
Wire/Interconnects/Fuses/Other: Lightning Audio 120-amp circuit breaker under hood, 4-gauge power and grounds/8-gauge on amps. RockfordFosgate 4-position AGU fuse holder. Lightning Audio 1-Farad Cap connected to fuse block with 3-inch piece of 4-gauge. Standard 12V relay to tie all the turn-on leads to the HU. One set of RockfordFosgate Gamma Series RCAs to connect HU to EQX. Don't use HU fader; I adjust front/rear balance at the crossover. Other RCAs are Monster Cable 4-foot shielded w/gold ends.
Total Power: 640W RMS
Amp rack/trimpanels made out of 3/4" and 1/4" MDF covered in factory-matching gray vinyl. Amprack has 1/8" Plexi windows for amps/crossover/eq.
I won't lie; the install was a complete bitch. Isuzu does not want you to mount A DAMN thing that isn't stock in the Trooper. There are no grommetted holes in the firewall (like on my Accord) I had to drill a new hole (scary!) to run the 4-gauge.
Removing the stock HU requires removing the middle of the dashboard as well as the entire console that fits around the gear shifter.
Front doors take 6.5's but max depth is a measly 2-inches. Hardly anybody makes decent components speakers that are 2-inches deep.

Spacer rings are not an option due to the factory grill butting right up against the speaker flange. Had to Dremel-out about 1/8 inch of plastic from the back of the factory grills just to fit the skinny Infinity's in there.
Rears take 4.5" speakers, but it's solid metal back there. Running wires from the speakers to the amp was a PITA.
But the install is solid and sounds fantastic. I really want to compete in the Amateur IASCA category, but I honestly don't have the time right now.
That's it, I think.
*EDIT* Wanted to add that all wires are terminated with crimp-on spade connectors and covered in heatshrink tubing. All tubing is yellow and cut to same size. Uniformity looks pretty.
