Here's mine. Me and "phatcow" just redid the wiring the other day. Took around 3 hours with a few breaks inbetween. :D

- Deck: Panasonic 301U (I forget the rest of the model number, gonna be upgraded to a JVC mp3 cd player soon)
- Mids: Stock Chrysler components in front and rear 6x9's (gonna upgrade to either Rainbow components or CDT ones)
- Amp: Kicker 700-watts @ 2-ohm (forgot the model number of this too, gonna be changed to either a JBL 600.1 or 1200.1)
- Subs: (2) 12" Kicker Solobaric L7's (not sure if I wanna run these later on, want either one 12" IDQ or Audiobahn)
- Cap: Lightening Audio Strike series .5 farad cap
- Wiring: 8-guage power and ground, RCA's and 12-guage speaker wire.

The sounds are in a 2k Dodge Neon.

Your turn! :D

[*] (2) JBL GTO-603 6 ½ inch speakers. These are seriously wonderful sounding speakers that I will continue to use up front until they fall apart.
[*] (1) Kenwood Excelon CD something or other manufactured in late 1997. This is doomed to be replaced by Alpine, Blaupunkt, or possibly another Kenwood.

That?s it! :)

Stuff I will have, most of it's sitting in my bedroom (waiting for a car ):

JVC kd-sx650 deck
Some sort of 2way + bandpass active crossover
MTX 2150x (sub amp)
Kicker 352xi (front midwoofer amp)
Carver M2040i (front tweet amp)
12inch Dayton Titanic MK2 in a 1.75cf sealed box (gonna build a vented one, SPL = good :))
Fronts and rears are crap currently, they might end up being Tang Band 4inch w4-657s midwoofers and kenwood tweets, hence the need for biamping (Tang Band = same people that made the 3inch full range drivers in the Z560's)
I'd only need 4g wire, but I'm thinking of running a 2g, just for the extra current.

I pity Mr.Baseball's 1200.1 amp; I bet its starving for current :(

Blaupunket (sp?) 6 disc CD Changer...

FEAR THE POWER!

The CD Changer doesn't work sometimes and picks up static badly.

I hope when I get a job this summer I can start replacing some of this Bose junk in my car.

I spent a full weekend doing this install about 8 years ago. Still going strong. It was fun to completely gut the interior of my car. All this stuff is off the top of my head, so questions marks mean I can't remember.

All custom wiring from the battery back. My car came without a factory stereo. It didn't even have speaker wire in it. Heavy, can't remember exact gauge maybe 4, Power line down the driver's side floor pan all the way to the trunk. Line-outs from tape deck down center console to trunk. Front speaker wires up the passenger's side from the trunk.

Deck: Old Sony Tape Deck. An oldey but a goodey.
Mids and Highs: (2) Clarion tweeters in dash and 5 1/4" Clarion mid-range in the door panels with crossover networks.
Bass: (2) 6.5" Altec Lansing bass in the rear deck locations with 100-1000Hz bandpass filters
Subs: (2) 8" Kicker Solo-Baric Subs in custom sealed enclosures on either side of the trunk
Amps: (2) 2x50W Sony amps mounted on the trunk sub enclosures. One bridged running the subs in parallel (2 ohm) with 100Hz cutoff. The other running the Altec Lansings.
Amps: (1) 2x50W Concord amp driving the tweeters and mids.

Low enough power that I have never needed a Cap. Still loud enough to not want to be in the car at full volume. Runs all day at full volume with very little distortion. No chance of blowing out speakers.

Edit: As for proper wiring, I used proper termination on all power wiring including junction boxes to break out for amps and head unit. Single fuse at the battery and individual fuses in junction boxes for each component. All speaker wires were soldered and wrapped with shrink tube. My enclosures/amp mounts for the trunk were custom built by me and carpeted to match the trunk covering. The tweeters are surface mounted into holes drilled into the dash and the mids and bass are behind stock openings. I agree with most people when they say wiring is a PITA. That was 90% of my time, with the other 10% for gutting the interior and installing components.

Mine's fairly simple compared to most here, but it still sounds great.

1990 Honda Civic (non-rice edition)

Head-unit: Pioneer DEH-3400
Monitors (4): 180watt 6.5 inch (pioneer also)

Headunit: JVC KD-S580 cd player
Speakers: 4 X 6.5X 160 watt peak KFC1677(I think) Kenwoods.

Including wiring everything cost about $280 a month back. It sounds pretty good (for me), but really I'd like an amp to power those speakers better plus a sub in the trunk but I'm "not allowed' :(

hmm, my car is in the states and i havent seen it for quite a while so i cant remember model numbers.

head - clarion (upper mid-level deck from 4 years ago)
fronts - infinity kappa 4" in the dash
rears - kappa 693.i (3 way 6x9s)
amps - pioneer premier 4x30RMS (bridged 2x80RMS on the front speakers) crossed over at 80HZ (i think, wish it was at 120HZ)
rockford fosgate (160.4 i think) 4x30RMS (bridged 2x80RMS on the rears) crossed over at 90HZ

and its in a geo spectrum hatchback so it sounds like crap.

actually it sounds ok, but i know how much better it could sound if it was in a better car.

Speakers:
Front: 2x 30 Watt 5.25 inch diameter "full range" Honda "Premium"

ZV <-- Puts too much money into the transmission of his 914 to be bothered with aftermarket stereos.

stock 1981 camaro dim mount AM/FM radio

1~6.5 front speaker in center dash, pretty much blown
2~6x9 speakers in rear, 1 is blown. No clue on specs, it was sitting on the shelf so I yanked it from my dad to replace blown factory speakers.

Not gonna do anything with this because hopefully I'll be buying a newer car very soon.

After 2 breakins and 1 stolen car in the last year. I have decided to stay away from this and put some bass in my house. Stock is the only way to go. maybe some aftermarket speakers and a hidden amp. I would stick with the stock deck if all possible.

It would be better to post your address after the specs. Thanks
