My gpu is pegged 100% all the time in caspian. Memory usage is higher than in Metro. Settings: All high except texture Ultra, terrain, shadows, decorations medium. Post AA medium.

What settings are gtx560 ti users getting at 1920x1080 in Caspian?

Any particular setting where your pulling 60fps average and if so which?

This old 9800gtx sucks big time any resolution above 1366x768 and it hard locks after a few mins while i can run it just fine at 1280x1024 medium.

Was gonna go gtx580 but i got xmas shopping so need to be light on the pocket :thumbsup:

I've got a 4890 lightly overclocked and am having really low frames, even playing in a small window and with settings at low. I know the card is showing it's age, but would have thought much better results with it.

Also should I delete my old CCC files and just start downloading this? For Version 1 I didnt delete my old CCC files and just downloaded it over my old drivers.

How terrible? My 4850 is getting me between 15 and 30 fps, and that is fairly jerky to boot. Settings all on low, and changing resolution between 1280x800 and 1680x1050 doesn't seem to affect anything noticeably. I don't think I tried going lower.

While I'm thinking about it, does anyone know if dropping an AM2+ chip into an AM2 board would really affect performance? I've been wondering for a year or two now if I should have swapped the motherboard when I upgraded from an X2 5600 to a X4 635, due to performance issues (perceived or actual). All I can find is that the system bus speed downgrades, but I don't know if that would really affect performance.

1440x900 on low 35-65fps average about 45 or so with a 720 core oc on a 9800gtx 512mb .

Find myself playing with the aa guns in base the most silky smooth fps and like taking down the jet's :thumbsup:

Would love hunting for campers but at 1440x900 on low its so pixed i never see someone in a bush especially at a distance.

Max resolution for a oced 9800gtx is 1440x900 on low...anything on medium vram max's out and the game hardlock's appears any resolution low is as good as it gets...

Edit=BC2 in all its glory can't handle such a minor oc....not the 760 core i used before...but BF3 can handle any oc? I game in BC2 any oc i do fails within 10 mins and the game whites out...in BF3 i'm gaming for hours at 720 core...what gives?IF any game is gonna stress the gpu...it would be BF3.

I have had that issue before as well. It seems like some games are more tolerant of OC'd clocks than others.

It is the stupid beta drivers and my 9800gtx...even at stock issues with BC2 and no matter what tweaks settings i do and how many fresh clean installs...its a issue that doesn't go away till i roll back to 266.58 which isn't compatible with BF3 .

Last night i had to make up my mind 266.58 and BC2 or 285.38 and BF3 and i just uninstalled BC2 cause i'm not even gonna bother reinstalling 266.58 for the sake of a single video game while all others work fine .

i don't buy that one bit with a gt220.....i see he is using a 1024x resolution.

Guy pulled better fluid gameplay it seems on ultra then i do on low...i doubt the extra 512mb is enabling such performance.

Guy must have a magic gt220 cause most people aren't averaging even 55fps on high 1600x900 in metro with a 5770....

Now i could buy if that was a typo and he actually has a gt240 1gb....

it has to be BS. a gt220 is barely any faster than my 8600gt. it is not even half as fast as the 8800gt which is the minimum card needed to play. even at 1024 there would be no way he could max every setting and use 4x MSAA. there is some nut on the Steam forums right now claiming he can max BF 3 on his gt220.

Only way to know and snuff this guy is if your 8600gt is the 1gb and if you can't load 1024x on high...my 9800gtx at 760 core oced tho a 512mb no resolution period allows medium...hard lock's on me as far as low goes 1440x900 is the max...

IF you got the time check out some settings and post some pics calling him out LOL .

Good two weeks and Caspian Border was what sold me...i went into Metro for the hell of it last night for change...got stuck on a server with EVERYONE in a bush....

Found myself in a bush too cause there was no one out in the open took about 3 mins till i felt like a idiot and i just left....Metro and Battlebush 3 won't work now Caspian and Battlefield 3 will

Several times me and my closest friend managed to penetrate the defenders by doing what the beta metro was ment for : rushing. we then went on a killing spree behind enemy lines, you can rake up kills fast that way

I love on caspian when a tank blows up you actually "feel" and see the blowback from explosion. The trees move back even. pretty awesome. Downside? Tanks destroyed on incline can roll over and kill you. lol

I know all about people in the bushes. I find myself sniping on the first part of Metro 99% of the time and I regularly go 5:1 ratio. In the tunnel is all about the shotgun.

Caspian Border is fun, but replaced by the bushes are the people who are on top of rocks, blending in somehow. I cannot stand getting sniped by some sub-machine gun with a scope on it.

Even If you think the poster is going out of his way to bash nvidia, it does not give you additional leeway regarding the guidelines.

See what happened after you posted this reply? Madcat wasted a reply asking you what posts are funny and why, and then Firestorm wastes a post giving you back the personal jab you started. That's exactly why we strictly moderate these kinds of posts - all they do is encourage more fanboy wars and derails.
